    Axle bearings??

Do you have any sign of a bad seal on the inside of the drum backing plate? I had a bad axle bearing on my 66 Valiant wagon. It howled pretty good until I changed it.

    About To Just Give Up!!!

I agree also. Precision Ujoints are garbage. The caps are cheap and crack very easily.

    Three on the tree options

I have a 903 in my 66 Valiant with a 225. I love it. No, it's not synchronized but I can throw it into 2nd going 5mph and its fine. And no, it doesn't have overdrive, but I have done 75mph for hours and the 225 just sings. Honestly having less gears to shift makes it very nice. I have a T5...

    2001 5.9 Magnum questions

I have a 2001 Ram with the 5.9L, It runs great! I got it about 100,000 miles, now it's at 215,000. I still have 50-60 psi oil pressure. Great engine. Now the body of the truck that's another story... Ha

will it hurt. whats your opinion

Why not bring it to a machine shop for the cam bearings, and a check of the block. I do all my own work, but I know I am not a machinist and shops aren't that expensive.

    Dodge 318

I have 2 slants, one an auto and the other a manual. I have several V8's as well. I did a 5.9L swap into my 72 Charger. IMO I would keep the slant 6. Everybody has a V8 these days, how many people still have the slant 6. The slant is a fast peppy motor when it's running right. My slants will go...

"Piggy Back" Fuse available for Glass Fuse?

I'm the same. Normally I don't like to piggy back on fuses, I'd rather splice into a wire and add another tail. But I have done this also.

Intermittent Ignition Issue [66 Valiant /6]

I had an issue on an automatic where I randomly got nothing. The wire on the Neutral safety switch on the tranny was hanging on by hopes and dreams. Which is why it randomly completed the circuit. Good luck. Just my $0.02

    Carb flooding

Whenever I rebuild a carb, with it right side up I blow in it. Then I flip it over, essentially closing the needle and seat and blow in it again to make sure it'll seal.

    Possible rod knock?

I had a weird knock on a new to me 318, it did have low oil pressure though when warmed up. I pulled the oil pan and the pickup was almost completely clogged with broken pieces of umbrella seals. Sadly it had been run long enough and spun a rod bearing. Thats the noise I was hearing. Might want...

Changing gauge cluster light bulbs - How To

I put leds in all my classics. Install them one at a time and you'll know if you installed them backwards. Put one bulb in and check the light, next bulb and check the light, etc. If you put them all in at once and it doesn't work you'll be chasing your tail until next week.

Was running but now after pulling alternator wire, it won’t run

Do you have a wiring diagram? You need one. The main feed for most of the car runs through the Amp meter in the dash. Has it already been bypassed?

    Disconnect battery when parked?

Your battery would be dead at a car show, etc, before it would start a fire if you had that bad of a short to ground like you're worried about. You're more likely to have an electrical fire when it's running IMO.

Is there a fuse for the gas gauge in a 1966 Valiant

Follow what they've said above carefully. I burned up the fuel gauge in my 66 not knowing what I was doing, and it's been a bugger finding a new one.

Ignition and lock cylinder - 1973 Dodge Dart

So they turned it to the "start" position and you lost electrical, did the electrical come back in the "run" position? It sounds like the previous owner has it wired for run power with a push button start.

    1973 Duster dash wiring harness

You can get a reliable used harness. Check Ebay. I got a used harness for my 72 Charger and it was plug and play. I couldn't afford the brand new ones.

Windshield wiper refills for 64 Barracuda?

I get cheap blades at swap meets, etc. I remove the blades and cut them to size. I've been doing this for years.

Why are you wanting to remove it? That's what we should be asking? Is it inoperable?

    1974 Slant 6 Holley 1945

No it doesn't matter, as it starts to warm the idle will get higher and that's when you blip the throttle as described above.

I think I need to go to Carter BBD Skool !

First open the transfer slot on the carb to a tiny square and NO MORE. Then use the timing to adjust the idle where you want it. Don't follow the factory specs for timing, let the engine tell you what it wants. It knows more than a book does. Then adjust the mixture screw until you get the...

    Chinesium in two takes

I think it's more shame on sellers in the USA. My local parts stores are plum full of parts from China. These parts palaces buy in bulk for CHEAP from over seas and then pad their pockets with our money at the point of sale. China is sitting back laughing that someone is buying the junk anyway.
