    1968 Dodge Dart hood vents

Maybe I will have some time this week to put it to the test.

    1968 Dodge Dart hood vents

When I get some testing done, I will post the results. I suspect it will be a venturi effect also, but I will try yarn. These vents on the side will not likely be a high-pressure area. The movement of the strips of paper towels is caused by the fan blowing air back. There was probably a reason...

Oh, I'm a little slow at times.

    1968 Dodge Dart hood vents

I have not collected temps yet. I will plug the vents and see where the temps go, then unplug and see. I want to do this on a hot day and hopefully the outside temps and humidity will be very similar while I run both tests.

Thanks. It's more for venting then sucking. Haven't done all my testing yet. Might be a lot of work for little gain.

    1968 Dodge Dart hood vents

Thought I would share this as it might be useful for some. I put air vents in the hood and inserts to help move out some hot air. I posted a link to show how it works. https://youtube.com/shorts/mkouaezgtTU?feature=share

    Hi-Tech fuel tank leak checker

Good afternoon. I thought I would post this as it might help someone. I'm doing a leak check before I install the tank. It has been some time now and the little guy still has a firm handshake.

    Anti-siphon spring???

The sender works fine but it appears to be leaking around the rubber bushing where the wire connects to it. Who refurbishes these senders, anyone know?

    Anti-siphon spring???

That's what I suspected. I'm getting ready to replace the sending unit & probably the tank as it is leaking. Found it there when, you guessed it, tried to siphon the gas. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

    Anti-siphon spring???

Here is a picture of my tank filler tube and another of what is inside. This is a 68 dart. Did some of these cars come with anti siphon devices or did someone jam a spring in the gooseneck? I can not find any reference of this anywhere.

    [WANTED] 68/69 GTS hood

One last request before I decide... Could I get a picture of the top and back please. I would be interested in the hood without the inserts as it would be installed on a 68. Thanks

    1968 dodge dart bumper guards

Thanks for checking. These guards are suppose to fit my 68 but they don't. I tried looking for a part number on them but no luck there either.

    1968 dodge dart bumper guards

Good evening to all. Question; I have purchased 2 sets of rear bumper guards for my 1968 dart. Neither set for the rear match up with the bolt hole in the bumper. I have added pictures. Notice the top of the guard matched the bumper but flares out almost 1/2 inch at the bottom. Also the mounting...

    [Found!] Bumper guards

Thank you for the pictures. Are the reproduction cushions bolted to the chrome or are they attached with adhesive? That is probably a silly question but don't know much about them. Never had one in my hand. Thanks.

    Is this a bad idea?

I'm running about 2800 at 65. With my tires at 25.2" I would think your RPM should be lower than mine with your larger tires???

    Is this a bad idea?

Thank you all for your input! Sound like there are a lot of mixed reviews on this subject. My dart runs at 2350 rpm at 55 and 2780 at 65 verses a little over 2000 rpm at 65 with the OD tranny (calculated). I have 25.2" tires and 3.21 rear on the beast. I'm not sure what the power range is for...

    Is this a bad idea?

I have a 68 dart with a 318, 4 speed manual, and 3.21 rear ratio. The car has a rear axle, K member, and suspension out of a 73 duster. I feel like at 45 or 50 mph I should be shifting to a higher gear but I am already in 4th. It is not a race car but I do some highway driving. The question is...

[SOLD] Back Due to Popular Demand - TUB-O-STUFF!!!

Are the bumper guards still available? Will they fit a 68 dodge dart? Thanks
  27. Rogerdodger

    Fairly new to the forum

Not original. Came with a slant 6 and a 3 speed on the floor. Somewhere along the line it was converted over with parts from a 1973 duster, meaning it has disk brakes, newer K member, 4.5 inch bolt pattern and 8.25 rear end, 318 and 4 speed.

    Rust or Not?

If I remove the bubbles and sand down to metal and have pin holes, then there must be rust between the outer fender and the wheel housing. How do I stop the rust without ripping open the complete fender lip.

    Rust or Not?

    Rust or Not?

What would be the best way to tackle this problem? I'm not a body man but is this something an inexperienced person could do or is it best left for the pros? It may be just surface rust with no holes yet as it feels very solid. Anyone have a clue what this would roughly cost to fix?
