    Better Torque From A 318

A 500Hp 440 is currently cheaper to build than a 400HP 318. I just finished another and the 440 was $2000 cheaper. Start with a 360 or 440 if you can.

    Rust! Should I sell it?

It's just way too easy to end up loosing $10,000 of parts and your labor in a car without even noticing these days. Once I started billing myself for $120/hr shop time and depositing it into a second account my projects were scaled way back. I went to Hawaii on vacation instead.

    Rust! Should I sell it?

This is exactly why I posted the easier and cheaper repair since it's not a rare collectable and neither is mine.

    Screwdrivers

Carlyle from Nappa $45 on sale https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CHTSDS8 5 years so far, the only issue is the size and type of driver print wears off of the plastic end on the handle. I've used them as punches and pickle forks changing ball joints with no dammage. I've used a few as pry bars...

    Rust! Should I sell it?

Keep it. You may not find another. So far I've gotten 5 years out of using multiple coats of rust desolver, sanding and wirewheeling until it quit turning white between coats then spraying rust reformer in hard to reach areas to finally top off with roll on truck bed liner to seal it. I did the...

They are easy to locate just use google maps and manually search your area for project cars. If it's behind a barn or in a back or side yard.......take a guess.

    350 HP 318 Build

What I think is going on and why my experience is different is I live in an area that used to be a HUGE group of Mopar old timers that are unfortunately dying off and their kids are just giving away their hordes and projects.

    350 HP 318 Build

You have to be quick and constantly refreshing the page. Deals only get posted for a few hours until they sell in Missouri. I'm just an hour or two by truck and flatbed over in Southern Illinois South East of Cape. There are still old timers with acres of Mopars around, they just don't use the...

    350 HP 318 Build

High prices are just online Gasslighting, talk to local car club guys IN PERSON... You can buy Edelbrock SBM heads locally for less than a set of rebuilt magnums online. It's not hard to find a set for free. In the past year I've picked up a free 318 with edelbrock heads, intake and carb, jegs...

    350 HP 318 Build

These that I have posted are all overpriced. Dusters running and daily driven are being sold locally for between $4000-$6000 and Online prices are always higher than local word of mouth prices and deals. I bought a 140,000 mile 73 Duster for $1,900 that sat garaged for over 25 years due to a...

A couple reasons why I hate doing port work after others

I missed your post that said the short Turn was nicely polished unless that's what you ment by "buff and shine". 500HP potential isn't aweful albeight I've seen those often flow over 300cfm with good porting in the right areas. Are you going to be honest and tell him those heads have been...

    Whats wrong with this picture?

Whats wrong with this picture.......A Mopar builder is dirtying his soul by building a Chebby.....and it's now 2023 and what is in the picture has become normal.

A couple reasons why I hate doing port work after others

You know the short turn is butchered and the cross section is all over the place. the valve seals were probably replaced at the track to make the last run on those heads at the end of the season.

A couple reasons why I hate doing port work after others

Probably served it's purpose and lasted long enough for the few passes they needed it for. Hey it's better than the old school grind till you break through then JB weld mess.

EVAPO-RUST AND A FUEL SENDING UNIT

I only use rust converters or removers on floor pans and light rust. I've moved on to electrolysis rust removal for parts. a little super washing soda in a container big enugh to submerge the part, rebar, wire and an old battery charger or power supply saves a lot of mess and headache. You...

“71 Dart” Recommendation for shoulder belt conversion for front buckets

I bought Seats and 4 point Harnesses from Amazon and installed in the stock mounting locations after adding bracing to the floor. You should have a shoulder belt mounting hole after I believe it was 68'. No problems in 5 years. Chrysler 5th avenue, Dodge Diplomat belts work.

    340 intake on 318

Thanks Mike, I'm juggeling my time today, we all know how fun Android is to find older files. I know I have a pic taken of the flow data and in the same folder as the pic I posted but I'll post it when I have time to search for it again later today.

    340 intake on 318

I may add, margin of error for flow testing should be taken into account. I flowed 2 ports on each head and took the average. Most stock 318 heads crap out and most performance cams are less than .480 lift anyway. For future reference and kids that find this later. It's not worth buying the...

    Header Interference?

I taped the back side of the holes and filled a pair with 100% silcone caulk. It had the same effect.

    Header Interference?

I'm about 95% sure you can adjust the mounts and regain enough clearence on the torsion bar and not have to ruin the ceramic coating on your headers. It won't help with the bell side but a grinder will. Just round the edge a bit. Take your time, don't rush it.
  28. Deltatech

    Header Interference?

I'd shim/adjust the engine mounts first. I'd also check the torsion bar and k frame bushings.

    340 intake on 318

It's only a 2-8 cfm loss on untouched stock 302 heads compared to port matched to the 340 size.

    340 intake on 318

I've used both and never had a failure of either type.Flow doesn't suffer much under .500 lift if using the 318 sized. These days I just take 15 minutes and port match into the head port 3/4 of an inch to the 340 size. I fill the port with modeling clay and use a shop vac when port matching...
