Looking for more pep off the line

Hey all, I've got a 73 Duster with a 360 LA and 727 that I rebuilt myself, and I'm looking for suggestions to make more power down low. The engine is bored over 0.040, has KB 107 pistons, 9.6:1 compression ratio, stock crank and rods, Summit K6901 camshaft 218/228 0.441 lift, stock J heads...

    727 tail shaft bushing install

I had a local shop install new bushings in my 727 that I'm rebuilding. I understand the tail shaft bushing is supposed to point up to the 12 o'clock mark (sharpie mark) but the guy installed it pointing at the channel at the 8 o'clock position, where there is another channel. Will this be ok for...

    Power steering cooler?

I'm planning on getting a Firm Feel power steering box and wanted to know if a power steering cooler would be beneficial. I plan to use this car mainly for street driving and cruising, maybe go to a drag strip once in a blue moon. The main goal is to protect the steering box and help it live a...

    [WANTED] 69 Barracuda header panel

Good day! I’m in need of a header panel (nose piece) for my 69 barracuda. Fiberglass repops are $250, I’d like to find one slightly more budget friendly. Color and condition doesn’t matter, the car is ratty. Bumper and front valence would be nice also. Located in Sacramento CA. Thank you The...

    Fast rebuild?

So after overheating my duster a few times last weekend, I think I roached my slant six. It smokes really bad out of everywhere, compression is minimal, it burns as much oil as it does gas, rings are shot. What I want to know is how fast can a guy, who’s never rebuilt an engine, rebuild his...

    904 Mash up

I'm collecting parts to swap a 360 into my 73 Duster, one of those parts is a small block transmission. I found a 904 from the 60s that is allegedly a performance transmission. The main issue is that it has a fixed yoke at the back. Could I take the tail shaft and other interior components from...

    Flip top gas cap rebuild

So I picked up this sweet flip open gas cap from a buddy of mine, I absolutely love these things. But the sealing rubber is petrified and the spring components are rusty. Does anyone know where I can get new rubber?

Junkyard F body vs New A body?

At my local junkyard is a 77 dodge Aspen, with disc brakes. I can get the spindles, calipers, rotors, etc for not too much money. Or I can buy a $450 kit for an A body disc brake conversion from eBay. Which would be the better deal? Budget friendly Original parts that I can refurbish? Or spend...

How I installed new window rollers

The old plastic rollers that were on the passenger side window of my 73 Duster were broken and no longer held my glass in place. The window would bounce around when you closed the door, and I had to tell people not to slam the passenger door because I was afraid of the window shattering...

Anyone know what this thing is?

This saucer looking item connects to the heater core hoses. It has a few rust pinholes and is slowly leaking water. What is it? Is it necessary for my AC/heater?

Anyone know what Blue and White wires go to?

After installing a new horn relay, I noticed these two plugs that go nowhere. The wiring diagrams I've seen online don't make any reference to any blue & white wires. These are located behind the driver side kick panel. The car is a 1973 Plymouth Duster, Slant Six, Auto.

Send me pics of 73 Duster headlight mounting

Hello all, The headlights on my 73 duster do not have all of the proper hardware needed to keep them pointed straight and aligned properly. If I straighten them out, the will rattle themselves out of spec. I just need pictures of the proper mounts and hardware so I can replace the necessary...

    My weird temp sensor mount

So I spent some time at my local Ace Hardware assembling an adapter for my 1/2 inch aftermarket temp sensor to fit in the factory 3/8 inch hole. This is what the manager and I came up with. Naturally, the temp gauge doesn't read any temperature. Any thoughts or ways I can make this better?

Backdating 73 marker lights to 70

My 1973 duster has the bolt-on side marker lights, has anyone tried modifying the mounting areas to accept 1970 marker lights? I like having marker lights, but the factory ones look silly and cheap. The 1970 marker lights are recessed into the body which, in my opinion, looks way better. Thoughts?

Dodge Ram Van Components in A Body?

I plan to do a V8 swap on my 73 duster in the future. I had the idea this morning of getting a ram van to pull the engine (360 magnum), transmission, and rear axle out of it for use on the duster. Will the rear axle need to be shortened? My local Pick n Pull has a bunch of these vans. Thoughts?

    New guy, 1973 Duster

Hello, everyone! 1st post here. I bought my first Mopar last week, a 1973 Plymouth Duster. It has a slant six with a 904 transmission that runs like a top and is tons of fun to drive. My plan is to swap in a crate 360 magnum, repaint it, and turn this car into a mostly correct 70s street...
