Pretty cool short doc on the story of this car. Was kinda hoping the son would keep it in the family forever, but I'm sure whoever buys it will take care of it. I wouldn't change a thing on that car.

That's cool to hear. In today's world there isn't too many people paying that much attention to what they're doing. I could make a weekend trip out of it to pick it up. Gotta couple Mopar buddies who might want to tag along!

Looks like you're fully assembled, but the Body & Electrical Assembly Manual lays out stripe placement in pretty good detail. They're $40 from Faxon, but maybe someone on here has the one for 1970-1971 Dart Valiant and can send you the sheets. These are what mine look like for the 1967-1969...

It wasn't split when it was dipped, but given the stretched metal the shop had to split it to fix it correctly. They did shoot epoxy on it before it went back together so that's good.

A year is a long time for for body and paint but it depends a lot on the shop, their work load, how much is being done to the car and tons of other variables. Sounds like you are a few steps ahead of me as far as body work and the undercoat. These guys had the panels off and on so much between...

It was there for about a year. That includes the trip to the dipper for a month or so. I suppose it varies on how much work they have and type of car. My friends '67 camaro was a two month shorter stay. That was the original color for that car so I headed that direction but now that it's done...

Well. last weekend has came and went and all went well getting the car home. Was a little sketched with the dolly under it but it was fine. Took back roads and took it easy. Had a good car watching my six. Rolling it in... and tucked away.

After the body was done, it was a lot of unmasking and cleanup prior to panels going back on. Had them spray deadener/silencer back on the inside of the quarters (pre-paint), tried to copy what factory engineers spec'd out... Took this pic with the flash on. This color changes a bit...

I'm leaning towards white on the tail stripe. I think it will pop good against that body color. I decided on saddle for interior color. Found evidence that the interior had been changed from saddle to black at some point in the cars history

Matched the interior color from a parts car i bought. Couldn't dig up an old paint code so the shop did the best they could. I thought they did pretty well with the match. The car is getting a saddle color interior from Legendary, months on order, so if your buying your stuff from them, order...

Not planning on under coat. I did have them spray some on the inside of the fenders prior to paint. I’ll get a pic of that posted soon.

I think I'll end up with repops for my bezels. Lots of plastic repairs and just the old stuff being so brittle! Got a couple extra so maybe I'll experiment. Your dart looks awesome! I'm going dog dish and painted wheels as well, dig the look. Honestly I haven't added up the invoices for paint...

Shot the underside, engine bay and trunk first... and some over spray inside.

The spray out on the big card is what they matched from the original Ditzler color, the small chip is a slight tweak (more pearl). I liked the one with a little more pearl, it flops great in different lights and I'm not going absolutely factory correct.
