There is very very little difference using a crossover pipe in the exhaust of a motorcycle. This is mainly helpful in cutting down the decibels, not for torque

    Great service!

Thanks for the advice! I always use USPS, but it was not listed as an option, but there was the option of free one day shipping, so foolishly I chose that. I will always ask from now in

    Great service!

I’ll be posting in my build thread in Forced induction. Just collecting parts now, but starting fab work this week

    Great service!

Hey guys, I’m never one to kiss corporate butt......but, I just ordered all my pieces to convert my D-150 to carburetor and turbo it. Distributor, fuel pump, pressure Reg. Gaskets etc. Well according to the tracking the shipment was delivered to the wrong place. I don’t have many neighbors, so I...

Yeah, I don’t get the 300hp at all!? You should EASILY BE PUSHING 4-450hp and a solid 600 with a with 7 psi

    Project D-$150

I do have an 8.8 limited slip with 3.73 hears. I may wind up fitting that to the truck for a little better launch.

I read your thread through twice. Sounded like a pain at times, but a whole lot of fun! I appreciate any advice you have to offer!

    Project D-$150

I remover the rear bumper, that should help, right? Lol This is my daily driver, so the interior is nice to have. I am rear mounting the battery, and replacing the front bumper with a light weight option. The truck sits currently at 3,800lbs I can ditch a little weight, but there is not a lot of...

    Project D-$150

Sorry, Baseline? You mean, dyno or 1/4 mile time stock? I have not done anything, but it is pretty slow. I will try to mark off a 1/4 mile by my house. We live right next to Levee Rd. And it is a perfect dragstrip. These Are supposedly about 170hp. I am shooting for 4-450hp

    Project D-$150

I started a thread in the restorations thread, then realized I am not actually restoring anything, and being a truck, I should put it here and focus on the motor being a turbocharged 318. My goal is a random self imposed Parameter of building a 12 second truck for the absolute lowest cost...

    318 EFI and carb

Well, you can buy a used Holley for $50. $35 later you have a rebuild kit, and they work quite well. The FI stuff is nice, but for a possible 10% increase in mileage, $1,000 is a lot to spend. If I did have the money just laying around, I would probably go FI on a daily driver.

    Project D-$150

So, I have been collecting parts and finalizing the plan. One major change is for now this truck will stay a daily and keep my expectations realistic (400-450hp) as I will be using this truck to pull my dragracer! I picked up a little 65 Datsun that I am putting my 600hp Turbo 5.0 into...

Another small block turbo early valiant

From what I have seen, on a blow through, an intercooler is not at all necessary on a mild boost system, or on one moving a ton of fuel (like E85) as it completely cools the boosted charge. I am curious myself about whether twin or a big single wastegate is the best route, but the argument the...

I’m an Aerospace Tig welder, and recently got to use that Tig machine. I was very impressed and may be picking one up to replace my big Miller machine. Enjoy

    318 EFI and carb

Great point! The TBI motors are roller cam, I am told they are a short cam, but I have not seen this for myself. An electric pump or perhaps cam eccentric is in his future for sure

    318 EFI and carb

I am converting my 88 D150 to carburetor, because there is NO performance option using the EFI. It works fine to get to work. It does nothing to go fast. To do this, you need a carb, intake, distributor (your old one or any stand alone/ready to run is the easiest option, your old one will work)...

    6BTM or locked out timing?

This was my plan for a very modest 5-6psi setup on my 318. I figured (possibly incorrectly) that my adjustable vacuum advance might give me back a few degrees, at least at very low throttle. I am however now running a stock distributor with the 5pin HEI module that when the 5th. Pin is grounded...

What main jets are these??? Holley 600

I’m not sure the age, it is a 9834-1 I will research it a bit more to see. I am planning to put it inside a box for a mild blow through turbo setup.

What main jets are these??? Holley 600

Hello, I just pulled my Holley 600 vacuum secondary apart and the two main jets are clearly marked “661” not “74” or “68” 661 on both jets! What the hell is this? Thanks for any input!

    stock 318 cam specs

That might be a better grind for what I am doing. This is for my truck, and staying on the torquier side of things might make sense? That and the probability I would need to change valve springs, rockers and pushrods with the larger cam

    stock 318 cam specs

These are the two cam profiles they suggested for me. Considering the OEM is not even .400 lift as I understand, this looks pretty good! both are about 112-114 lobe separation as that is the stock center, but for my mild turbo install this should be perfect.
  27. Houseoffubar

    stock 318 cam specs

I hear you, but I am already in there changing timing chain, intake, carb and distributor, so a cam is a small step, and how tiny this cam is, it is bound to be a decent improvement
  28. Houseoffubar

    stock 318 cam specs

Hey Man, thanks again! Ken at Oregon cams says they have a couple grinds that put me into the .500 lift and a decent duration as well for $169 for a re-grind Because this is a TBI cam, the lobe centers are 112-114, which can be pretty soft in general, but great for my future turbo plans
