Thanx Mopar Sam... I had a chance to get a brand new in the bags Scat 2-ICR6123-2124 rods for 175 bucks Canadian, about 125 US so I went for it. They are clearanced for stroker cranks, big end 435, small end 168... just wanted to compare to the stockers...

Not rambling at all. I have also read that the magnum pistons were the lightest they produced and would be a lightweight performance upgrade to the LA360.. quicker revving. Have you any thoughts on stock 360 rods small end bored and bushed for full floating pins?

Nope, not saying it is internally balanced YET but assume it will need to be once i change pistons/rods. I guess i wont know what balancer or flex plate or converter it will need until i get everything over to the machine shop. It will be a mild build no more than 5600 rpm with street manners...

Sorry for another post about balance but i have to get it right in my head... my build will be an 01 magnum 5.9. Stock cast crank, either stock rods or Scat's probably bushed for floating pins, Wiseco or JE forged pistons 30 over and whatever bearings the crank needs. As I am changing the weight...

Yes, the lightest(and most expensive) are around 510 grams. I contacted Wiseco a few days ago but have not heard back.

Hey all. Doing a rebuild on my 5.9 and need a little info. The stock piston have advertised weight of 470 grams which I am trying to duplicate in an aftermarket forged piston or get fairly close. Is anybody running a light weight forged piston similar in weight to the stock piston? I am keeping...

Hey.. was just wondering if anybody here made custom valve cover decals kinds like the factory stuff but with their own logos or designs for engines that never came with them like the 5.9 magnum or magnum 360 or any such stuff... thanx

thats kinda why i looked at these because of the availability everywhere of the GM ignition parts... just dont know if it will clear A body firewall...

Does anyone have any feed back regarding the Summit GM style distributor on their small block. I know you get what you pay for but even if you have to replace the coil and or module is the rest of the distributor of decent quality? Looks huge! Thanx guys...
