Also is there a difference between a slant 6 ballast resistor and a v8 one? im running a oem replacement 2 prong resistor......

So short story......slant 6 70 duster to 318 swap...all new components carb electrical ect......when i start the car cold runs decent idles great ....go drive it down the road drives good . try and back up or turn around wants to stumble. drive home runs good. park in the drive way idles rough...

Turns out it was the ballast resistor....running now thanks for help yall

Ok here we go ...... just completed the slant 6 to 318 convert in my 70 duster. All new electrical components are . Distributor, coil, ballast resistor, mopar orange ign box, plugs , cap, rotor. starter solonoid and battery. yesterday i got it running with new coil ran fine, drove down the road...

Does anyone know the measurements from the transmission crossmember to the rear axle , thinking about just doing my own exhaust all the sudden and im not home near my car lol. in town at work and was going to have exhaust pipes cut then work on it tonite. plans are just dumping a short flow...

i have 70 duster with a slant in it i am converting this car over to a 318 . im wondering can i use my existing power steering pump and pully? do they make brackets or a conversion kit or smaller pully? can this be done? any help would be appreciated thank u

needing to find out what size the bolt is that attaches the front of the oil pan to the bottom ear of timing cover. Bolt goes in upside down strait up into timing cover thats threaded. i lost one and the other is a pain to get to so didnt wanna back it out . i.e. lazy lol.....it takes a half...

just went from an electric choke to a manual choke much better easy and i control it ...liking it old school honestly.

i had a msd blaster two coil...currently running a little high at 14.58 ish .....so i removed the blaster put the new stock coil on...relocated to inner fender to get away from engine heat...stock wiring ...i had a brand new ballast resistor on but put the old one on to see if any...

Hello all and well i have a 74 scamp with a 318...... 600 Edelbrock cfm.........it originally would idle fine until it hit 190 . which is normal operation for my car does not get any hotter.....well it would always die around there when it hit 190 would stumble and fall and die.....timing seems...

checked those tight and seem fine

yes it was . ran fine when cold when it hit 190 ran and idled rough sprayed along intake with carb cleaner found a big leak.........

So car has been down for a week . put a new intake gasket on it. replaced it ,put the intake back on hooked everything back up. put distributor back in where it was . and go to start it and plenty of gas and no spark..........new distributor , cap, rotor, plugs, ballast resistor ect. would not...

but i just read that the fel pro 1243 works better for the 318 bc it has smaller intake ports than the 360 or 340 so i may have to go that route

well appears i have a bad intake leak that has been causing me problems. ie..running ruff, idling ruff ect. it is an older edelbrock rpm low rise intake my question is what gasket do i need to go to the stock 318 heads? any thing special or can i use a stock style gasket. obviously i will use...

its getting plenty of gas i can see the levels in the sight glass when its hot back sight glass is full front is half always.

the adjustment screw will stop at some point when i screw it out? it acts like it will come right out all the way . i get what ur saying tho thanks for the info
