Well I’ll be dipped. Parked the scamp for the winter out here in Washington. Drained the carb. Set her up to be nice and warm in the garage. And I develop a flat on the drivers front. Went out today to patch it. Long story short. Wheel is bent. Looking for a set of anything in the Seattle area...

Need help diagnosing a braking problem.

Went hunting fast for a replacement booster at all the part house websites... they look to be indefinitely out of stock most places? Does anyone know where you can get one if that is the problem?

Need help diagnosing a braking problem.

Pulling it back up with my foot may be giving me a placebo effect kind of reaction if I’m honest. It seems to help. But I’m also trying to give throttle at the same time so it may just be a coincidence on that side. I’ll try the vacuum plug and see what I get.

Wise gentlemen and ladies of the forum, Project Scarlett the “scumbag scamp” is off to a start. New front hubs bearings and some steering refresh have it back in the road and doing apocalyptic burnouts. However. I’m having a braking problem I’m having trouble diagnosing and haven’t been able to...

“The Dr’s guide to optimizing your ignition” haven’t cracked my copy open yet. Started with the A engine book. But supposedly it’s the last word in electronic ignition as we know it in our cars. Or so I’m told.

I’ve been told that. I’m excited to dig into this stuff for sure. I’d like to think I halfway know my way around under the hood but I can always learn. And having stuff like his book is awesome because you just can’t find that kind of stuff anymore.

I intend to do my damndest! Return trip from work today signaled some pretty good vibration through the wheel at highway speeds. Thinkin it’s time to refresh the front end and rebuild the brakes all the way around. A few bucks in general maintenance and upkeep and well be flying again

That’s the plan I kinda like it ratty. Might get it all one color of primer but if it don’t have a 7000 dollar paint job on it I won’t cry my eyes out if it gets a rock chip!

So far. It’s about realism. Will it go to the track. Yeah sure maybe once or twice in it’s life or so to see what it can do or maybe after a major change to see how it shakes out. Mostly it’s gonna be a street killer. Blaze tires at will because why wouldn’t you. And be something to scare of the...

I find that you’re correct. Every vehicle I’ve ever owned has more than enough personality to tell me what’s on its mind haha.

On this day, three days before my birthday I got myself an early present. A mostly gone through mechanically, mostly gone through electrically, ratty 74 scamp. Factory 318 car with a swapped in 727 and 8.25 rear with an as of yet unknown gear ratio and obviously no sure grip. She’s fun. Been...
