Engine compartment done, got a couple of runs n the paint, wonder if I can sand it down and paint over the area? It's 2k polyurethane paint. Also wonder if I should remove all exterior old paint before sending it to the paint shop, been sitting since 1983 with this red paint.

Started the topcoat, but forgot to apply the seam sealer! Damn. Have to do that now, then just use a paintbrush to cover it, I have black seam sealer. At least I didn't paint the trunk area yet. Exterior is gonna be white pearl, this is just plain white.

Got some primer inside now. Ran out of my PPG grey so I used another 2K in the rear.

Got all surface rust out from under the dash and inside the roof by mixing phosforic acid with wallpaper glue, let it sit for 3 hrs, then used baking soda to neutralize the acid, and then a high pressure washer, worked well. There is spots that are very hard to reach with normal grinding tools.

That would be funny as hell! :)

Now, the backrest part, on the original vinyl there is some holes with brass fitting on the bottom, what are those for and do I need to transfer them to the new vinyl?

Added 3/4" (20mm) of foam to the seat, it came out great.

Got a new interior from Legendary, now, I got new foam for the front seats but not for the backseat, because it was in good shape, but is it a good idea to add 1/2" or so of foam on top of this befor I put the new vinyl on? Just an idea, I have never done this before.

Finally got the connectors in place. Paint them and more undercoating next.

Made one of them today, a bit more grinding needed.

Also, car is on a rotisserie now. My plan is to hang the doors, check the door gaps, then lower the car and support it on the rear axle (on the car now) and on the front frame rails. Then spot weld the connectors, get it up again and finish welding them. Don't like welding from under. Does that...

Thanks, I didn't think of the cable. Since I bought this car in parts. I guess it's just for looks, where I attach it in the front. Looks better to match the frame I think.

After a 6 months break it's time to get back to the Barracuda! I'm gonna make my own subframe connectors for it. US CarTool style so it looks kinda stock. I got the material and had a local shop make up the parts for me, just gotta cut them correct to match the floor shape. Now, should I put...

I fixed i, I was so stupid and did not test the chrome ring from the light when I mocked it up, and when I had the bright idea to do that (after all the welding), it didn't fit at all. I had to cut the lip out and redo the curve after the ring. At least I learned someting! :BangHead:

I'm just an amateur on this fender patching stuff, learning as I go, I need to make the edge just a little bit rounder on top (top of the picture that is, side of the car), so it fits the chrome light ring perfect. I had it rounded good before I welded it in, but in the process it flattened out...

Replaced all the steel on the damaged fender. Still need some work with a hammer and dollly.

Left fender, collision damage in the corner, under more than 1/2" of bondo. This is gonna be difficult to fix for me with all the rounded parts, gotta try though! As well as the normal rust behind the wheel, like the right side.

Done! The part sticking out from the lip, with the hole in in, whats that for? I made it like original, but I don't see anything on the frame that it should attach to... Fenders are from a 65 Valiant.

There was more rust than I saw right away, thin on the backside, had to make a new piece that goes all the way to the back of the fender.

Started to work on the fenders today, both need some repair in the low part behind the wheel. Fender are from a 65 Valiant, not the originals. Then I'm gonna sandblast the inside and paint. When you mount the fenders, should there be anything in between the fender and the body? Like seam sealer...

Great Picture. Thanks! No new pict, I'm repairing pinholes in the welds around the wheelhouses now, that repair has been done sometime in the 90's... Not that great. Trying to grind them smooth as possible also. Next I'm gonna hit the areas under the dash (where I cant get to with machines)...

It's weld thru primer. Volvos, the best I have tried.

Putting Audrey to work! It's her car... Then I gave up and put the car in the rotisserie, my back is killing me, working on the low parts. Need to change a piece of the lower quarter behind the wheel, it's very thin, a few pin holes, gonna be tricky to make the rounded corner. I'm not sure...

Fixed some rust in the windshield frame.

That would be cool, this car will probably not be done this year, but I have some e-bodies and an 08 SRT Challenger I can drive.

This area is were I expect rust. Fixed that also.
