1973 Plymouth Scamp Factory 318 and AC Car Parked Since 2004

Started on the Scamp today. Took the radiator out along with the AC condenser. I want to remove the AC compressor but I’m not 100% sure what I need to convert it to a non-AC pulley setup. I took the radiator to a radiator repair shop local. Hoping it’s usable.

1973 Plymouth Scamp Factory 318 and AC Car Parked Since 2004

Cleaned and organized my garage so I can get my 73 Dart Swinger inside before the winter. Not much progress on the Scamp yet, hopefully tomorrow I can start on it. I’ve got two weeks of vacation starting today so should make some good progress.

1973 Plymouth Scamp Factory 318 and AC Car Parked Since 2004

The Scamp is home! Finally had a weekend that lined up with the previous owner that I could go snag it. I washed it, cleaned up the interior and vacuumed all the crap out of it. I’m now on two weeks of vacation and hope to get it running in the next couple weeks.

1973 Plymouth Scamp Factory 318 and AC Car Parked Since 2004

Ahh thats interesting. They do look similar. Thank you for the clarification. I guess what I should have said is I like the single tail light style in the bumper better than the double tail lights in the bumper like my 73. Both are cool, but the single light just looks cleaner in my opinion. But...

1973 Plymouth Scamp Factory 318 and AC Car Parked Since 2004

Thank you! What year is yours? I like the Scamps. They have the 70-72 Dart rear bumper (my favorite one), but in my opinion, a nicer front end than the 73 or 74 Dart Swinger. Kinda a neat mash up of parts from Dodge and Plymouth.

Thank you, it does have a bunch of nice mods. Suspension upgrades front and rear also, sway bars, that kings stuff. And yes, that air cleaner is going away first thing.

1973 Plymouth Scamp Factory 318 and AC Car Parked Since 2004

Just made a deal on a 1973 Plymouth Scamp. Has been parked in a storage unit since 2004. Started last about 10 years ago. Has a mild built 318 with under 12,000 miles on it before the previous owner parked it. Auto trans with 2500 full lock up stall converter and a 3.55 suregrip in the 8.25 rear...

1973 Dodge Dart Swinger back in my hands after 18 years

This is my 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger, 225 slant 6 with a 904 auto trans. Power Steering, Power Brakes, vinyl top, bench seats. When I was a teenager my parents paid to have the seats reupholstered, we put the 14 inch cragar wheels on it with BF Goodrich Radial TA's. Otherwise the car is pretty...

Right!? That’s what I thought too! Haha! Definitely realizing that kinda thing doesn’t happen very often.

I found my 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger and bought it back 18 years later!

I traded it straight across for a 1989 Pontiac Firebird at a local Dodge Dealership in 2003. The owner of the dealership kept it in his collection until October of 2020. The owners son then sold it to the gentleman I bought it from. It sat in a warehouse with the owners other collector cars for...

That’s rad! Nice clean Dart! Ya, I was dumb and sold it and shouldn’t have. I also had a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II with the wide block 318. It was a 2 door. Another car I’d like to have back.

Dart is home and tucked away in the barn before it starts to rain next week. Drove it into town on the weather checked tires. Ran good for not being on the road much the last 18 years. I’ve got everything to do a tune up on it.

It is still in very good shape. A little more surface rust and the paint in a few places is a little worse but all in all it's better than I was hoping!

Wow, just read your first post on getting your car back. You worked hard for that one! Nicely done! I love stories like ours, cars coming back to owners that wanted them back. Thank you for sharing.

Yes they are. My oldest loves riding in and working on cars with me. The youngest isn't there as much just yet but he still thought it was pretty neat.

I found my 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger and bought it back 18 years later!

It's been a great week for me! First of all my name is Ryan and I live in Oregon. My very first car when I got my license was a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger. 225 slant 6 and auto trans. I bought it for $700 bucks. It had been donated to my high school to sell. My dad and I then traded a 1966 Chevy...
