Stop in for a cup of coffee

Scored! I picked these up at the local speed shop this morning for 150$! in the 2000s their main business was small block mopar circle track engine building for a team in Vegas. (before the class put too many restrictions on the mopars to slow them down) should be great on my little street motor :D

Crossover Tube and Valve Spring Pressure Questions

Other engine and transmission let go at the same time. not ready to pay for a new trans and engine yet. I already have the 318 and crank with bearings. as well as rods. I have to build what I have to get it back going before summers over because I want to cruise with my buddies. if time and...

Crossover Tube and Valve Spring Pressure Questions

Yeah spending 1400 on a roller setup wasn't really In the cards for this engine. (if everyone agreed that it was a horrible cam choice then I would've bit the bullet) Even with my 9.1:1 current compression ratio and 2.76 rear gear it seems like the car still gets up and goes pretty well. It'll...

Crossover Tube and Valve Spring Pressure Questions

yeah; from what's been suggested here and with the lifters Rusty suggested I think I'll stick with my cam and opt out of the crossover tube. Side note: I got my crank installed after adjusting main clearances. and it takes less than one pound torque to rotate if over. :D

Crossover Tube and Valve Spring Pressure Questions

Well the trans went out on the way home from a buddies house last Sunday and at the same time the current engine started huffing a considerable amount of oil out of the exhaust and breathers. then my intake bolts pulled the threads out of the heads. all In one day. so Im building the engine I...

Crossover Tube and Valve Spring Pressure Questions

What would make this cam peak at 5600? I am pretty green when It comes to camshaft tuning and specs. I was going off of the ISKY website when I ordered it because I was under the impression that a longer duration and tighter lobe separation favored higher RPM. Isky says the range for this cam is...

    Cars that sit awhile.

Go to tractor supply. they get the good oil based solvent from out of state. HOWEVER you have to catch it. it doesnt come in regularly and it gets bought FAST. keep an eye out though because it is good **** or just get super clean at the parts store and do a 70-30 mix with hot water. works just...

What are you using for a trunk mounted battery?

For a trunk mount battery on a big block I like using 2/0 welding cable and a 250AMP resettable circuit breaker. This one is in a 72 chevelle with a 468 BBC. That battery is pretty good too. Full throttle Batteries.

Crossover Tube and Valve Spring Pressure Questions

Right now I am putting together a pretty hot street 318 as the one in the car now has started huffing a considerable amount of oil out the exhaust and the breathers. The combination is going to be: 1969 318 Cast Crank 10-10 (ARP Main Bolts) 340 rods (shot peened, corners rounded, ARP bolts)...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

WELLLLLLLLLLLLL... shortly after this picture (after the coffee cruise with my buddies) I was doing some donuts in the dirt and crunched the passenger quarter in a pole. We went back to my buddies house and kicked most of it out and I got the scratches out with a buffer. (it looks almost...

Automotive enthusiasts that you hang out with.

I got 5-10 plus. I hang out and build **** with three of them; two are my coworkers; and the others are older guys who are building or built their "last" ones. This is the main group, (apart from the two nissans) there is a pit bike behind the nissan that is the other main friend. The...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

The annoying part is; The 318 came with the correct motor mounts and I stored them away for this exact scenario. but one just walked away  not surprised; usually happens. Ill find it when I buy a new one

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yeah that's only half the sketchy **** on it. But now that I have a little more knowledge and a higher standard for what I do. (and 60-hour week pay helps do things "correctly") The next things are the crossmember and getting the correct passenger side motor mount. (engine lists about 15%) then...

Hell, it snowed up here; We only got rain but hesperia and oak hills were getting it pretty heavy. It rained so much that when I took the duster out yesterday the headers were underwater going through 90% of the puddles  Sounded like a boat

Well, I got a new truck finally; which was its own adventure. Its a 1993 D-250 Cummins. One owner and is IMMPECCABLE. The old man who owned it definitely hopped it up some but I don't know the extent of the modifications yet. The duster is in limbo right now, Not much free flowing cash since I...
