Getting my set of BMW seats with belts soon...

"can’t wait for my little 12v battery to arrive so I can test them" I must have misunderstood. I thought you were going to use a separate battery, though I could not imagine why. LoL

Love to see some install pics. How are you going to charge the separate battery?

Does Your State Allow Year-of-Manufacture Plates?

Same in Idaho. When I flipped to the second set of plates in a stack at a swap meet and found mine, I knew it was meant to be.

    Aftermarket Sunroof

I love factory sunroof cars, but aftermarket ones, not so much. How much work is it to plug the hole? I would never try it myself, especially since this is a non-vinyl top car, but just trying to decide if it is even doable or if I want to go see this car in-person. I think it is a big...

    '66 273 BBD Carb

Even my lawnmower has a plastic cap. :) Covers are common on motorcycles. A sheet metal screw pops them right out. I may punt on this and use this as an opportunity to get a 4 bbl. I love the original 66 small-bore air cleaner though.

    '66 273 BBD Carb

Very helpful - thank you! Totally explains the set screws. I have to get the air screws out first to see what I have. I do have a Thermoquad here I may be able to rob from.

    [Found!] '66 273 Carb

For a Barracuda. Carter BBD. Model number 4116, but not sure that matters. Or something else 2-barrel that will work. Thanks for looking.

    '66 273 BBD Carb

Yes, broke off the mixture screw with the spring on it. The other two are threaded.

    '66 273 BBD Carb

I don't know what welding would do for me. I may try and drill out the small screws, then plug the holes with silicone. There is a local guy with a rusty carb, but it looks like the air screws are okay on it. Thanks for the link. The one for my application is available, too.

    '66 273 BBD Carb

One idle mixture screw is intact, the other is broken off (the large hole). The small angled holes I have never seen before either. I think it is because it is a damn emissions carb so you can't get the air screws out completely. It looks like there may be plugs in the small holes, and possibly...

    '66 273 BBD Carb

Hello: I broke one air mixture screw off in the carb when trying to remove it. Half of the screw is still in the carb throttle plate. Apparently, the mixture screws are not meant to be removed. There are threaded holes that angle down toward the screw, maybe holding the air screw in? There...

Upgraded 273 commando intake manifold suggestion

I like the simplicity of this idea, but I have to think a stock 4bbl manifold would be much better. What carb would you suggest for 66 273?

[WANTED] 66 Barracuda Power Steering Pump

I haven't been able to track down a leak yet. I may need the reservoir also. Thought I would try here first before rebuilding the one I have since I am not sure if there is a hairline crack in the reservoir. Thanks

    Voltage Limiter

Why did you keep the condenser? It is only there to quiet the mechanical limiter on the radio, right?

    Voltage Limiter

I ordered the cheapie from Classic, though I think the one in my 66 Cuda is working. Dash is out, anyway. The test light shows constant power to the limiter on one post and pulsing on the other, but no gauges are working. I forgot to check actual voltage before I pulled the dash. Pins are loose...

    Voltage Limiter

If these solid state IVRs fail, are the gauges protected? To me, that seems like the answer to the question of whether to replace if it still works.

    Stumped by brake hoses.

I am pretty "stumped," too. I think some of the confusion on this site comes from slider vs pin-type calipers. The Aspen and Dart hoses are the banjo-type, which are for the slider calipers. I am using pin-type calipers from a 73 E-body. I was going to put the calipers toward the front of a 66...
