It has a flat plate carrier and looks like a 10.95" disc that is used with a 130-tooth flywheel with the scalloped pressure plate but will work with a true 11" pressure plate with no issues. I have a similar one and you can see that there is no marcel.

The incorrect shifter mounting plate, probably from a b body, could be the problem. Take the shifter off and post a picture of the aluminum mounting plate.
