So i am converting my 69 to disc front brakes. The car has original 13 inch x 4 pattern wheels on it. I have been told that 13s won't work with a conversion kit. I am planning on using an early (pre 72) kit. I need a recommendation what 14 inch wheels and tires will work to keep the original...
what is confusing is when people say with disc brakes i need to get bigger wheels. it is stock 13 inch wheels and I believe for Disc to work, He needs 14s. So i could just by 14s with the 4 inch bolt pattern (and wheels) and then the 72 and prior kit, right?
He would want to stay close to original so I would say the 72. Car currently has 13 inch stock on it. Everyone said he will need new wheels if he goes to disc at all.
disc only upfront. whatever is easiest. I don't want to have to totally redo the underside of the car. that's why i want suggestions from the experts here.
I am more confused now. So could I just get 15s with the 4.5 inch bolt pattern and call it a day. What else do i need? Besides the disc kit of course. just the steelies and wheels right? or do i need other things? sorry, I am so new at all this and know very little
had all hoses replaced. they were original and nasty. front wheel cylinder could be the culprit for sure. The disc fronts are for ease of mind for my 16 year old safety
it is a slant six, he will daily drive it. So if i just do the front discs i still need all that stuff in that back. the current rear end is what came on the car when it rolled off the line in 69, 13 inch wheels and all. So could he put 14s all around? or 15s?
i may only go with the front disc. the car is original and has all new drums but they stick and squeal no matter how many adjustments i have. and they pull to the right if he presses down too hard. he is a new driver and i just feel that disc are safer but i have been told if i put disc, the 13s...
I know nothing other than i want to switch to Disc brakes all around. What do i need? I know that the 13s won't work for disc so i have to go to 14 inch wheels. What are the basic ones i need. this is a daily driver for son. I don't understand all the "bolt pattern" discussions so please bare...
so it appears that is what it is! thank you. Any suggestions for how to get the 51 year old cracked, dried adhesive out of that gap before i put on new one?
Brand new. I bought it from Inline Tube and didn't get around to noticing that they did not fit my 1969 Valiant. I cut the bag open. Have not been installed. 40$ please and they are yours.
got it. as you can see from my picture, there are two speaker holes on each side (standard 6X9 and then some weird triangle hole, on both sides) and the slit where i would hook the hose/vent
which needle are you referring to? I have the EXACT issue. I have replaced the carb twice and it still stalls out. I am a total noob when working on cars so explain like i am five please.
no, as picture shows, the hole is already cut to accommodate one. I am looking for all the parts (hoses, motor, switch, etc.) I can't wrap my mind around how a hose would go there and how would it get to the heater/defroster.
1969 valiant that has been pretty much gutted on the inside. the rear package tray has a slit for a rear defroster but there is not vent. There is also no hose. Anyone have any idea what i should be looking for to see if this is something i can bring back to life or should i just buy a new...
i am going to be tackling that this weekend. There is actually a place locally that just redoes clusters. the back board looks burned as do two of the posts. Let's not even talk about the temperature gauge...lol
