I had 355's with a 904 behind a 318 in my 66 Dart Conv. I changed to 323's more driver friendly, I have 355's in my other Dart with a 4 speed that works out very well Joe

I have a 66 Dart Conv. with a 318 & 904 I had 3.55 gears and felt I needed another gear so I swapped in a set of 3.23's and now it cruises nice Joe

Sounds to me like you may have a bad torsion bar adjusting bolt or the saddle nut had the happen on my 66 dart came down like a ton of bricks

If you are a true MoPar guy you never turn down a rust-free car, and a 361 is not a bad engine a friend of mine had a 63 Savoy with a 361 we got it to make power I would buy it it would make a nice cruiser 4 speed & air just sayin
