Anyone Heard of K&K Iron Works in Squamish, B.C?

Thanks for the reply, Tod. That was my plan if no one had heard of him on here. The reason I'm talking to him is because he was the only one willing to trade work on the Dart for my '67 Belv project.

Anyone Heard of K&K Iron Works in Squamish, B.C?

Hi everyone: has anyone heard of Glen Stein at K&K Iron Works in Squamish? I am thinking of trading him my 67 Belvedere for some work on my 72 Dart. All opinions/experiences, good or bad, will be very much appreciated. Here is his ad out of Kijiji: K&K Iron Works is located in Squamish...

Dip Stick Tube Snapped Off - Arrrrgh

So I was stripping down my 360 to get it ready for the machine shop and I when I went to pull the dipstick tube out it was stuck. So I gave it a little wiggle to see if it would loosen and come out and....it broke off at the block. I tried to drive it out with a drift, but no go. Should I just...

    Removing the dampner bolt.

and crap, I just noticed that I put this in the wrong section. I'll have to blame Canada Day celebrations :drinkers:

    Removing the dampner bolt.

Oops, I guess I should have added that the engine is on a stand with the heads and pan off already. Thanks for the answers. I like the wood idea.

    Removing the dampner bolt.

Ok, time for the dumb question of the day. How do I get the dampner bolt off without the crank spinning? I could wedge something in the crank and use the impact, but would that screw something up? :tard:

    Should I Sandblast My Heads?

Thanks everyone, guess I'll let the shop (as soon as I find a good one) take care of them.

    Should I Sandblast My Heads?

Is that the best way to clean up the heads before I send them to the machine shop? I've already removed the valves and springs. Thanks

    What else should I grab?

Well, I'm learning stuff already. Good thing it was basically thrown in for nothing. Could you explain why it doesn't work in a car? I have another SB 727 out of a 67 Belvedere, but I was thinking of finding a 904 for this build anyway so I wouldn't have to shorten the drive shaft. Speaking of...

    Coupons and Deals

Do we have a thread here that lists all the current coupon codes and deals available for parts? It would be nice, when your buying something, to know you are getting the best price possible.

    What else should I grab?

Well here what I ended up getting for $800: So a 360, 727, A-Body 8.75 w/741 non-SG, Holley Street Dominator, 6AL MSD. I think I did ok. Now to start taking it apart. :-D

Shumacher or Trans-Dapt engine swap mounts

Give em a try, looks like they do the job. It's only $75, I spent more on beer last month. Competition is always a good thing. Let us know what they look like.

Not that I'd mind having a bridge or tunnel to the mainland. At $100 for a ferry ride, it makes travelling a pain. Does tend to keep the riff-raff out though.

    What else should I grab?

Thanks everyone. Do anyone even do FREE anymore? LOL. I am paying for this, but the prices are reasonable (for Vancouver Island, BC). Would the power brakes and power steering parts work on the Dart or on my 67 Belv? I will grab the proportioning valve.

    What else should I grab?

Looks like I'm getting a 360 from a 74 D100 this weekend. It will eventually be going in my 72 Dart. Is there anything else useful I could be grabbing? Thanks
