    Your first mopar...?

First Mopar was a 1991 Dodge Daytona ES. It was two tone blue/silver and had the Mitsubishi V6. The valve stem oil were shot on it when I got it... the smoke screen was amazing!!! I had it from around 2000. But, I had to sell in 2002 when I changed jobs and I couldn't afford its up keep. Sold...

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

All I know is it was in Palm Springs in 2001 as per the title and the box of matches I found under the seat that was from a restaurant still going in Palm Springs...then who knows it was imported into the UK in 2012. The gent I bought it off in 2021 had from October 2018. I'm guessing it may...

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

As the spare is a Ford wheel I'll have to wait until I go down to the car to see if it's got right steel wheels on it.

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

Yeah, when I was talking to tyre/tire place next to the auto electrician shop. He said he could understand that I wanted to put more rubber down. But, he also said it might look at bit ballooned. But, also agreed it looks good with the centre caps on rather spending more money on alloy wheels...

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

Not sure regarding the wheel size per se unless some can tell me what I need to measure... slightly complicated by the fact the car isn't with me at the moment. I've looked at the spare and found ... refer to the photo... Build date wise looked at the documents I got with it when I bought it. It...

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

It's down as a 72 and some of the dash parts have a July 72 build date stamped on them but, I would say its is actually a 73 by the front grille.

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

Hi folks, As my rewire is progressing aplomb now, it's time to look at replacing the cracked tyres/tires on my 72 Dart. It's currently fitted with 195/75/14's. Not a common size over here and what you can get are very pricey. I would like a wider tyre/tire on the...

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

Has anyone had a chance to take a photo for me or send me to a link that will ?? Thank You

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

The heat control level moves but doesn't do anything. I guess it controls a flap ?? That allows air over the matrix and subsequently heat. The car is stripped before it goes off for a rewire, dash cap off, cluster glove box and radio out... but geeze, no view as to where the cable goes to. I'm...

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

Do you reckon due to the cable issue the previous owner did that to stop the heat circulating ?? The car did orginate from Palm Springs.

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

Why would that be done ? Could it be due to the heater control issue ? IE when they wanted it hot they'd open the taps? Or is it something more nefarious? I found the Dart was already missing its thermostat when I changed the housing.

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

Hi Folks, whilst re striping my Dart down before it goes in for a rewire I have started to look at the heat control lever that has always appeared to be reluctant to move. The cable appears to be seized but it appears to also go to a lever which I assume opens a valve to control the water. Can...

    Anyone got a match ???

I've booked it into an auto electrician they are doing the rewire. Everything I have done has made things worse. I've splashed out and go an Autometer dash gauge kit too. I just want a good running car now instead of it sitting on the drive.

    Anyone got a match ???

A small update... having now retired from my job and while awaiting to decide what to do next. I have decided to stop tinkering and make things worse, I've booked the Dart in for a complete rewire modernising the fuse box having a modern alternator and removing the ballast resistor etc. Once...

    Anyone got a match ???

Just a quick message to anyone who reads this : Happy Christmas and New Year and stay safe. I'll be back early next year to continue to persecute the membership with further ongoing questions or putting mmatch to the Dart.

    Anyone got a match ???

Hi again (groan I hear you say)… Starting problem sorted. Thank you it was down to linkage adjustment. I must have tweaked something when, I was bolting it back together. Electrical issues are still there though. The ammeter is still going berserk when revved, the fuel gauge still doesn’t...

    Anyone got a match ???

I did do all those after taking the new sender out for second time.. Everything was within parameters. The gauge worked when earthed and the temp gauge works

    Anyone got a match ???

Thank you for the advice I may employ an auto electrician to come over and dig into it. Everything I'm doing of late is making it worse. I wanted a summer of cruising enjoyment and nothing but, grief.

    Anyone got a match ???

The initial cause... was firstly a leaking fuel tank. Tank repaired reinstalled fuel gauge stopped working. Sender replaced with a new earth wire still no gauge. Whilst underneath the car asked my wife to turn ignition on she jammed it in position 3 cranking. I looked spring resistance in...

    Anyone got a match ???

I started checking through the engine bay and disconnected the bulkhead connector with the power to starter relay wire ( the one where the fuse link had burnt out and I found the wire going through the multi plug and appears to go straight through. Is that right ? Or is it a sign of someone...
  29. BillyBob0780

    Anyone got a match ???

Thanks for that. It makes sense as I had to unplug that connector to the bulkhead to repair the burnt out fuselink. Regarding the tank sender I had put a separate new earth on the sender unit. I tested it before I put it in tank and it seemed to be within parameters. I guess its just a crap...
