[FOR SALE] Free: Exhaust pipe from a 1972 scamp

This was formerly on a duster and has been lengthened to go on my 1972 scamp. It is a single tube from a slant six car. I got it for free from a FABO member, and now that I'm putting dual exhaust on, I'm giving it away for free. I live in Winnipeg. IF you can't pick it up yourself, for $20...

    Which seals do I need?

I have a 1972 Scamp with a vinyl top which I am removing. The car is getting the body done this winter, and I need to know which seals I should be ordering since I will not be keeping the vinyl top and will have a painted roof in the end...

    Rad hose

Am I able to bend those myself? Anyway, I had such close luck with a late '80s F150 rad hose, right shape, but it was too wide to fit on, need a narrower section of hose. I thought about cutting up an OEM one but the shape is still wrong. Anyone done this before? I'm kind of at a loss.

    Rad hose

Thanks for the quick responses guys! Unfortunately, trimming it is out of the question, the hose is older than I am and developed a nasty leak.

    Rad hose

So I got a bigger rad for my 1972 Scamp (225 slant six) to replace my failing original one, from my good friend ifitsgotwheels, and I believe the rad. Now this rad I believe is a small block rad, I know it fit in a '67 Barracuda with a 273. My issue is my lower rad hose is too long now, to fit...

    Making the grown up decision

You seem to ignore the fact that I ordered from a couple different places and got refunded because they weren't available at the time, and that I was trying to find someone to teach me how to do body work for over a year. This is why I was under the impression you haven't actually read the whole...

    Making the grown up decision

You're a little late to the fight my friend. Read my previous post where I explain why the caliper hasn't been fixed. Read the whole thread first, then sling your dirt if you still feel so inclined. :banghead:

Need second opinion, Am I Crazy or Not

Also, don't buy the RV new, used ones should be a bargain in this economy. I've always liked the idea of having a year off of life and traveling the continent in a westfalia but life is moving too fast for me to even consider. Can't imagine being mobile my whole life though. Best of luck either...

You know that may not be a bad idea. Just need to find a place to keep it.

    Making the grown up decision

I'd absolutely love to do this myself, but my issue is finding a place to learn, and the other issue is a place to do it. I live in an apartment, and my Dad's garage houses his mustang and things he can't fit in his store, it is not a suitable place to fix a car. I have done amateur body work...

    2012 ??????

Well, if you're talking about the movie "2012" what happens is a film company attempts to capitalize off the current end of the world scare, and ends up making a crap movie. That's what happened. And will happen. The cycle repeats itself every time the world doesn't end.

    Making the grown up decision

Alright it's time to set some things straight. Since you're so fixated on the brake problem let me elaborate: The car started eating brakes in 2007, I thought it was a bad rotor so I replaced the pads and rotors. The problem came back in 2008 so I ordered new calipers from rockauto and then got...

    Making the grown up decision

The biggest problem with this plan is time. I have been working full time and putting myself through university, and frankly free time is not something I have. Between work, classes, and homework my life is pretty much 100% filled. If I had a house and a garage I might keep her in there and try...

    Making the grown up decision

The only thing keeping me from being "cut out to own a classic" is money and frankly that's a major part of it.

    Making the grown up decision

The thing is I took it to a few body shops (3 different ones) and another independent guy two years ago and they all quoted me roughly $7000 and this was before the water based paint laws. So $8500 for a guy who does top quality work (did vic's barracuda) is not out of line at all. Basically...

    Making the grown up decision

Spare is fine. Haven't looked at the floor so I can't comment on it. Rockers need work, bottom of the doors too, there is bubbling under the vinyl top and and the fenders could use some patching. Top of the wheels wells have through rust (visible under the hood) and this is including a full...

    Making the grown up decision

Yup, 225 /6. Here are pics from when my friend did a full detail job for my bithday back in June. Also should mention there are 2 project scamps for sale here, one for ~$1200 with the body work started, one for $2600 and it's a 1975. There are a few ragged parts cars for <$800 that are...

    Making the grown up decision

Background: In 2004 I bought a 1972 scamp with 31,000 kms on it (converted to km/h in 1974) off the original owner with a huge stack of documentation on the car. It had a little bubbling in the rear 1/4s but was otherwise in great shape. I drove the car throughout highschool, with barely...

    Front brake kit

I remember seeing a while back that there was a kit with everything you need for front disc brakes. My Scamp's front discs are totally shot. One rotor is warped, one caliper is dragging, pads are cooked. I figure, if it's cheaper than ordering everything separately I could just pick up one of...

Sorry to revisit an old debate but...

Thanks man! It's not running fine, in fact it's been barely running for years now. I just can't bring myself to put on any of the replacement parts til the body is fixed, and in the meantime it's just deteriorating. I think I may just park it again and bust out the Fiat until I've finally got...

Sorry to revisit an old debate but...

So it seems, because I don't have a garage nor the money to just pay someone to do it (my knowledge is also still quite basic, even if I had the tools) I'm going to keep the slant. Since it needs to be pulled apart anyway I'm going to get a cam, mill the head, probably need to change valves too...

I'm looking around for my first bike right now. Took an Xj750 Maxim around a back lane and scared the crap out of myself. Looking at smaller bikes now.

Sorry to revisit an old debate but...

It's getting closer and closer to the time to pull my Scamp's /6 and get the body done and car painted. Do I keep the six which I have a 390cfm holley 4bbl, offenhauser intake, and headers for (although not installed). Engine has 45k miles on it but is definitely not mint, and I know the power...
