We decided to install the new pump with a mechanical gauge. Ran the hose through the hole in the firewall where the A/C drain hose would be if I had functional A/C. We’re averaging about 65lbs throughout the little cruise I just went on.

I’m not two quarts over full. I put a quart in to bring it up level and a quart to fill the filter, because the filter was dry. So by the end of the deal, the dipstick is reading level on the full mark.

Because even though I just put 5qts into it, it was still a good bit low, also, I have a high capacity filter on it.

No I didn’t, but I need to. Moving that cover didn’t help my leak at all. Made it worse. I’m ordering one now. The PCV is hooked up but I don’t know if it’s working or not. I assume it is, because there’s no big plumes of smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Okay, so I’ve tried the oil burning test. Held a butane torch up to it and it just makes it run of the dipstick, but it doesn’t catch fire. So I guess the problem lies not with gas being in the oil, but rather with a sort of circulatory issue.

Thank you! I’ll check that out, although when I installed the pump last time I ended up making my own gasket anyway. It’s not that one that’s leaking though it’s the outside case one. Looks like I gotta replace my fuel pump for the second time in 2 years cause my oil is full of gas again. Pain.

This is what I originally wanted, but no one has the manifold in stock or will any time soon. I have been in contact with a guy in a warehouse in Australia and he was in contact with the manufacturer who said they broke their mold and have been since unable to resume production.

Follow up question: is there a baseline tune that I can start with? Something like “bottom out the screw then turn it back so many turns out” kind of thing that will get it running without having to fuss with it? I’m not planning on putting anything on the engine until I can take it all apart...
