That looks like a very good solution! Would you know a nice one for sale? What I also like is are the 25 spline (in which my axles would probably fit) and the 2.77:1 which give my car the nice 1800 rpm at 60 mph...

Hi there, it seems my 7.25 diff is shot and there are just no replacement parts. Next to that, i replaced the 273 in my car for a 318 and it would be better to replace the complete rear axle for one with a 8.25 diff. Which is the one to go looking for?

Okay, but actually I use the carrier of a 10-bolt (I just realized), so then the spider gears will fit the carrier. But will the carrier fit the diff housing of the 9-bolt?

Well, actually I want to change my 2.93 gear for a 2.76 that I bought from a 1978 Dodge Diplomat. I'm not sure if that's possible. So if anyone knows if a 2.76 ring and pinion will fit a 9-bolt diff of 1964, that would be interesting to know too. I don't know if the 1978 diff is a 9 or 10-bolt...

Thanks for al the replies! We use the carburetor of the 273 and we cleaned and adjusted it right. There is no vacuum leak, checked that too. We will have to check the compression before and directly after it dies. We have the impression it has something to do with the hydraulic valves that stay...

I mean when i start the engine immedietly after it dies. If i wait 2 minutes it's oke. It has the original carburetor with choke.
