    help identify this tail housing?

Hey gang, I'm having a hard time figuring out which tail housing I have. The car is a '65 Barracuda with a crappy A833OD transmission. I can't really read the casting number. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

dash wiring clips - where to find?

Thanks for that. I've been browsing for a couple of days on and off and found every clip except the ones I needed. Thanks for the links.

dash wiring clips - where to find?

Hey there. I've finally finished re-wiring my '65 Barracuda but I seem to have lost the clips that hold the wiring to the underside lip of the dash. Does anyone have a source for these? Thanks!

where to find headlight and bucket grommets?

Thanks gang. I was hoping for something factory but I cobbled together some bits from McMcaster. Cheerio.

where to find headlight and bucket grommets?

So I need some grommets for my '65 Barracuda. I figured that maybe Classic Industries or Dante's would have have them but no dice. Nothing on ebay either. I'm looking for the fender grommets for the headlight wiring and the the large grommet that lives behind the headlight bucket. See photos...

    ammeter with aftermarket harness?

Okay. I don't absolutely HAVE to have an ammeter, and since I already have a very nice matching set of gauges with voltmeter I really don't need to replace the ammeter with the common Sunpro voltmeter hack. I'll look around and see if I can retrofit some other Chrysler gauge in place of the...

    ammeter with aftermarket harness?

Well, I'm getting done with my Ron Francis wiring conversion. I've also taken the time to make other common sense improvements like adding relays for safety for bits like the cigarette lighter, wipers, and headlights. The kit I'm using completely ignores the ammeter in the dash, and I have a...

    Single speed wiper switch decoding

Okay. This took entirely too long to figure out but here it is. The part number shows that it's a switch for a '65 Imperial or Coronet. That's odd because those cars should have come with a better wiper setup. Indeed the service manual wiring diagrams for those cars only show 2-speed, 3-speed...

    Single speed wiper switch decoding

Yes. The part number is 2580174.

    Single speed wiper switch decoding

Continuing my rewiring project I've come to find that my Ron Francis kit doesn't have provisions for the heater or wiper switch. My car is a '65 Barracuda with a single speed wiper switch. I'd prefer to have variable wipers but it's what I have. Here's my trouble: the large color poster wiring...

    Help identify instrument connector terminals?

Hey gang, I'm re-wiring my '65 Barracuda. I need to make new terminals in the large black connector that connects to the back of the instrument cluster. I need new terminals but don't know which these are exactly? Perhaps someone knows... Thanks!

[WANTED] Turn signal switch for '65 Barrcuda

The new aftermarket turn signals are 100% garbage. For over $100 a pop I would expect way better. I've landed a couple of them and the cams are so stiff as to be worthless. Tired of messing with them. Anyone have a NOS unit? @slantsixdan is this something you're into? -m.

Thank you fellas. I finally understand.

Ron Francis / Denso alternator hookup

Okay. Running the sense wire to the battery is easy enough. Thank you for that. I can easily put a fuse in there.

Ron Francis / Denso alternator hookup

Thank you for the diagram. Sadly, I don't understand the terminology. "12v reference" means what / where? Does "12v ignition switched source" mean 12v supplied to the fuse box or 12v supplied from elsewhere?

Ron Francis / Denso alternator hookup

Hey peeps, I'm having a hell of time with the Ron Francis XP-777 wiring harness I'm attempting to install into my '65 Barracuda. I have a long list of complaints about this harness but right this moment I'm just trying to install the alternator. For years I've happily used the 3-wire Denso...

    Ron Francis fuse panel location?

Hey everyone. Thank you all for the input. After fussing around trying to find the ideal location in terms of accessibility, safety, and easy of installation I finally came up with this idea: place the fuse panel into a weatherproof box and and install it in the engine bay on top of the...

    Ron Francis fuse panel location?

Hmm. I'll see if I have enough room behind the radio, but I think your car has more room than mine. I'll have another look.

    Ron Francis fuse panel location?

Hmm. But if I remove the duct, how else will I blast myself with dried leaves and muck on hot summer days? There is enough room to mount the panel way up above the summer door on the left kick panel, but access is awful and awkward. A/C sounds great!

    Ron Francis fuse panel location?

Hey gang, I'm installing a Ron Francis wiring harness, part number XP-777. Today was nice so I was able to remove the old under dash harness without destroying anything. And holy cats it was just a fire waiting to happen. I'm glad I made the decision to replace the harness. Here's a link that...

photos + trunk seals for '65 Barracuda?

Hey gang, I'd like to find some trunk seals / grommets that seal up the sheet metal. It looks like there should be two rectangular and two 1" circular on the shelf and another large 2.5" circular seal at the very bottom underneath the spare tire. For that matter I have no idea how the...

    Treblig's doughnut?

Hey gang. Just a quick follow up. The new exhaust pipes are installed along with an "H" pipe aft of the transmission. It sounds great. A bit less tinny, but otherwise unchanged. None of the skull-pounding reverb I've had with other exhaust systems. I hardly notice any change in power at all for...

    super stiff steering

I ordered a 24:1 box and that's how it was handed to me. Granted, I should have verified that ratio before installing it but I had no reason to think otherwise. I already have a buyer for this box so that pays for most of the FF box once that materializes. My thought at the time was that if...

    super stiff steering

I have news. I jacked up the car this evening and found that I have 2.75 turns lock to lock. As far as I know that's a 12:1 ratio! How is that even possible? Maybe the steering box is 16:1 with a quick ratio pitman arm? Was there ever a 12:1 manual box? I contacted FirmFeel and they're out 8-9...

Will do. Still $200 cheaper than the Flaming River unit.

    super stiff steering

I'm all for replacing this box with a better one if mine turns out to be a lemon. Flaming River makes nice stuff but I'm not fond of the 16:1 ratio on their $750 box. https://www.flamingriver.com/index.php/products/c0011/s0008/FR1540

    super stiff steering

Yeah that's next on the agenda. I won't be able to work on it until the weekend but once I get the chance I'll find the lock-to-lock turns and find the ratio. I also want to disconnect the idler and see if it binds.
