I just scored a `74 225 RGFC "BH" block over the weekend. I'M STOKED!!! Thanks CudaJim!

    [Found!] WANTED: 225ci Slant 6

I got hooked up!! CudaJim gave me his old RGFC 225 out of his`74 Dart. It's was the Dart's original engine and has never been rebuilt before. It's exactly what I was looking for, a `68-75 BH block. I pulled the pan and so far all I see is the fuel pump eccentric on the cam is wiped out, and the...

I totally agree. I scooped mine over at Summit Racing.

Since I bought the van I've done quite a few things. Rectifying the seat situation was a priority. The original frames were in the van but they were mostly bare or rough foam. I opted for some aftermarket seats and adapted the frames to the van. They worked like a charm and very affordable...

    [Found!] WANTED: 225ci Slant 6

I am in search of a good, preferably running, 225 slant 6 engine. The 1968-1975, 5-freeze plug style block would be ideal but it doesn’t have to be. A bonus would be a “BH” block. Knowing the history of the engine would also be nice. I live in Healdsburg, Sonoma County, CA. and the engine must...

It’s been gutted. I’ve scooped an original bench seat for the back but I’m not sure how I’m going to tackle the interior yet.

I absolutely hear what you're saying, and I realize this. Currently I don't have room for another vehicle. The van has kicked my wife's daily out of the garage as it is. I am trying to entertain all possibilities but also treading lightly. I do dig those 63-64 Darts. It would be a shame to...

I'm really new to these slants and I've only just learned about Doug. I'm currently reading his Slant Six book, actually. I don't know how he'd feel about getting pestered by a slant 6 "Jonser". I just posted my situation over on the Slant6.org forum, perhaps something will manifest. Thanks for...

I hear you. I've lurked around over there. I'm considering duplicating this post over there. There's only so much time though.

One of the first things I did was ditch the 14" Ford wheels it had on it. I scooped some Wheel Vintiques 15" MOPAR steelies and some 1" white walls. I also had to address the front brakes. Someone before me had attempted to do a brake job and screwed up.

That’s super-cool of you, thank you. I’ll keep that in mind if I strike out locally. If fuel wasn’t liquid gold I probably wouldn’t hesitate.

It does pop up and down but it needs some love. The sides fold up. It’s got some sliding aluminum frame windows in the pop up sides that need rebuilding. It functions but it’s a bit rough. I’ll find some pictures and post them.

Yeah, I’d consider that if it was the 225 it was born with but it’s not the original engine. This 225 is a 1967 vintage. Plus, I don’t want to sleeve 3 cylinders on a block that is so plentiful—remember, 4 & 3 are starting to do the same thing. I’ve done a couple sleeves (personally) on a...

1965 Dodge A100 Camper Van - "Uncle Rico"

Back in May (2022) I purchased my sweet little 1965 Dodge A100 camper van. It was originally camper-converted shortly after its birth by Bradley Controls Inc. and sold in California as a CA-certified mobile home. It has a Bradley Controls Inc. plaque on it that states "VAN DE CAMPER" with a...

HA! My dad just said the same thing about the 440 this evening. I'm more of an inline six guy. Especially in this ride. And I'm already in touch with the owner of this engine. I'm just waiting for visitation rights and a method of loading it into my truck. I'm going to have to exercise my trust...

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. Well, I just pulled my 225 slant six and tore it down—she's a boat anchor. The coolant leak in the #5 cylinder turned out to be a crack in the cylinder wall. The #4 cylinder is about to spring a leak in the same area as well. It's only bored 0.040" over...

Thanks! The Slant is one of the reasons I love this van so much–I'm definitely keeping it. I love inline engine configurations. My`49 Chevy pickup has a 261 straight six. My Dodge Ram has a Cummins 5.9, and my wife's Jeep Liberty has 4 cylinder diesel as well.

It is for standing room. It has sliding glass windows in the side panels that flip up. It's super-funky... I love it. I'll post more pictures once I start my build thread.
