new to forum, resto, and safe-t-cap

After having the car sandblasted I found that the torsion bar mount cross members on my '67 Barracuda were quite rotten, especially on the passenger side. I found the Safe-T-Cap site and decided to go that route so I ordered one. I was pleased with the part when it arrived, good heavy...

just a taste from Dad's place

If it weren't for my wife, my property would look something like that! I have accumulated two '67 Barracudas, a '70 Mustang Mach 1 and a '70 Mustang convertible. Now whenever I mention something she tells me that one of hte cars has to go. Aww POOP! I want to bring in my other dream project...

    no room for the Charger?

Is it just me, or is anyone else kinda disturbed by that? I don't know why ... it just isn't right. Perhaps it brings up memories from the movie The Final Countdown where an aircraft carrier time-travels and some sailors wind up imbedded into the deck and walls when the ship re-animates. Ewwww!

    Sand-blasting cabinets?

So where do all you guys get your blasting grit from? The boxes of beads/grit sold at Harbor Freight are so expensive, ~$50 if I remember correctly, I just can't bring myself to cough up the coin for it. C'mon, sand is supposed to be cheap. I've used good quality playground sand, as well as...

Amazing Video of a Car Collection

That is the new Tata Nano. Cute eh? I think they want to import those to the US in the very near future. Not for Phoenix Az streets though. Too many full-size SUVs and PUs around here!

    Whatcha doin this morning????

Holy moly! How in the heck can you paint anything in freezing temperatures? I wouldn't think that ice crystals would stick to your workpiece. Did you break out the hair dryer to get the paint to set?

Bueller ... Bueller ... Bueller ... (One time bump).

    Methinks... I need this....

Yeah and if you were 1000 miles closer to me I would make a deal for the 318 to put in my Barracuda LeMons racecar. A cheap, strong-running 318 would be just the ticket for success!

Putting Together a 24 Hours of LeMons team...

It's not what WE think the cars are worth, it's what the judges believe the car is worth. It's all in the documentation. $500 NET COST. You document what you bought the car for, and how much $$ you got for selling off the extra parts. In my situation I have a '67 Barracuda shell that I got...

Kewl Go Kart barn find what's it worth

My Dad was a smart man ... I bugged him incessantly for a go-kart, so he got me one ... a steel-framed push cart with no provision for mounting an engine. He saw the things I did with my bicycles and figured (rightfully so) that I stood a good chance of killing myself in a motorized kart. By...

    Squirrels....

Eating squirrel is definitely a midwest-eastern US thing. Not too many of those critters here in the Arizona desert! Dove, yes. Quail, yes. After that I guess it moves up to javelina and deer. (Who wants to eat coyote? Not me!) Even in the AZ high country the squirrels are relatively puny...

Putting Together a 24 Hours of LeMons team...

Not trying to hijack your post, but I too am trying to get a team together out in Phoenix AZ, utilizing my '67 Barracuda shell. (See my post in the Racing forum). FABO could have two teams! C'mon guys, who wants to go racing?

    Try this trick

I concentrated real hard to keep the foot-circle moving CC, and I did it! I will admit, however, that the foot-circle did get a little wonky, but I kept it from reversing direction so I call it a success ... on the order of being able to rub my tummy and pat my head at the same time.

One of the coolest non-mopar builds I have seen in a while!

I've only finished the first page. Had to stop because of internet issues preventing P2 from loading. :disgust: I will say that he is one abitious individual. Making a frame has always scared me. Being a mechanical engineer I am too obsessed with specs and tight tolerances (+/- .001) and...

Nawww, it won't be THAT easy. :angry7: DMV will probably come back at you with 21 years of accumulated fines for not properly registering the change of ownership on the car back in '88. :thebirdm: I've seen this movie. It was at this time that I conveniently "lost" the paperwork and...

Ooooh, so nice to see that I'm not the lone AZ guy on the board. So, do y'all ever get together at one of the local cruises (Main St. Mesa, or Central Ave Phx), cruise-ins (Scottsdale Pavilions, Goodyear Sam's Club, etc.) or shows? I need incentive to get out more.
