535 supercharged first time start up?

If you can't pull a new lifter out of a fresh build, you should take the extra time to pull the intake, just in case.
  14. kbr577

535 supercharged first time start up?

Pull the intake and valve covers and check the lifters for any wear. You don't want any unwanted metal going through that new motor.

    Oil pressure

This type of pick up 3/8 off the bottom of the pan, never had an issue. Put your straw in your drink and hold it 1/8 off the bottom, then move it up to 3/8. big difference,

Also check behind the chain, I have seen some blocks with a bigger casting line, and the chain will rub on it.

    906 flow

Did you see the dyno head test on the 440? If your low budget, any porting you do will help, but if you have some bucks too spend, go aftermarket.

    stealth heads on a 383?

I agree, I think stock heads are for stock restorations, by time you put the work into what most of them need you're a head in buying aftermarket.
  24. kbr577

    stealth heads on a 383?

You can call on any of the aftermarket piston companies and get the right pistons made, if you're going to do it, do it right!!

    77’ 440 rebuild

A stock 2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO, Runs 11.20's, so if he's running 10.20'S he heavily moded. Also the GT-R Nismo is $200k.
  28. kbr577

    77’ 440 rebuild

I would say that cam is a little radical, it sounds like you should use a cam in the 230-to-240-degree duration at .050. The cam you picked out will need a 3000 thousand + converter headers. I would scale it back so you can enjoy the car. Some aftermarket heads would also help out the power numbers.
  29. kbr577

    77’ 440 rebuild

I would go with a full rebuild, Machine the block, bore the cylinders. You can use 6 pack pistons, to get the compression where you need it. The cam all depends on what you are using the car for, (driving style).
  30. kbr577

    77’ 440 rebuild

Keep what you have, just make sure your compression is around 10 to 1. 452"s are like 906 but they have hardened valve seat.
