    Shop insulating advice

You'll get there it just takes time. I worked in mine probably 10 years before I got the ceiling in. Talk about heating a barn. I didn't do much work in the winter.

Black and Decker Valve Resurfacer Repair

Looks somewhat like mine. This is the machine that I learned to grind valves on in 1974 at the JD dealer in IL where I grew up. The dealership burnt and I picked it up at the GOB sale.

put the old cub to work today...

We had one of those when I was growing up. We used it to haul the trash off to the land fill which was only a couple of miles outside of town. Ours was old as it didn't have an electric starter. I was just big enough to crank it over. My dad was the shop foreman at the local IH dealer and he...

    Shop insulating advice

I have the fix for your sliding door. When I built my building 30 yrs ago I used some left over 1/2" foam board to fill in the spaces between the boards and bought some cheap white paneling to cover it up. It never did a good job as the wind blew right through the door. So last year I bought 1...

Brake line flaring tool that actually double flares steel line?

There's the trick to making good flares. Deburring the end before you flare it and using some lube. Don't buy a cheapo flaring tool as it will just cause you problems.

    Moving compressor new pipe

I've had PEX 3/4" in my shop for probably 10 years now. Very easy to install with brass fittings. I never turn the compressor off and it has never leaked. I run 130 psi all over the shop. You can get assorted fittings on Fleebay cheaper than big box stores. I bought the 20' sections of Pex=B...

    Rallye Wheels - Help Needed

Hell yeah, and when I did brakes the self adjuster got wire wheeled and slathered with Nevr-Seez so it would keep working forever. If you lived up north where they put salt on the roads and then changed to that liquid stuff that was just as bad everything rusted out. That's why the front fenders...

    Rallye Wheels - Help Needed

That's what I would use is a brazing tip on a torch where you can concentrate the heat on the nut. If you could drill a hole in the end or grind the end off so you could get some penetrating oil to the threads would really help. I mentioned using Nevr-Seez on my lugs on FBBO and was immediately...

    Air compressor sale

For some reason the local store here in GA has this compressor for $1200, but I checked online at the store just 10 miles south and they have it for $1099. Checked some other stores farther away and they are all $1099. Must be that I'm so close to ATL that it is effecting the price. Another...

    30 x 40 x 10 build and cost

Boy you got that right. I was toying between a 30x40 and a 40x60. Told the wife we didn't need that much space in the 40x60. What an idiot I was.

    30 x 40 x 10 build and cost

In 1993 I bought my 30x40x12 pole building as a kit from 81 Lumber for $6500. That was a walk in door and a 10' sliding door, all metal siding and roof included. Did it all myself with the wife except had to hire some help to set the trusses and had the floor poured. Best thing I did was put...
