There's this stuff from Rubber Seals in Australia, but it doesn't have the rubber flaps that fold over the channel, or the flat section on the ends. They propose to make identical replacements by the end of next year, but I can't wait that long. I'm really interested to know what you did...

Do you have a P/N from their catalog, Don? I'd like to order for the lower, but also investigate as a substitute for the upper. The upper, of course, has a molded extrusion at the inside lower ends on each side; mine are intact, perhaps I could cut and glue them.

It's not the belt weatherstripping I need - I was able to find that. It's the channel weatherstripping for the glass around the upper perimeter. I know that Joe was hoping to find a piece in decent shape to reproduce, and I asked him recently if he had any luck. Here's his response:

Yes! A different diameter inner piston. I thought the difference would create the pull, but it didn't occur to me that the one side might be locking up. Thank you - hoping for the best!

An update... and a question. After the car sat overnight, I jacked up the front and tested the spin on the wheels; at first, I thought the tires weren't off the ground. But no, they were that tight! I took the car back to the mechanic, with a printout from the manual on how the brakes should...

Curious that the bearings turn up on search by P/N, but not for the vehicle! OK, I'll go with that. But... my '63 parts manual shows a different P/N for the gaskets (two for each side).

Yes, they have them listed - but they also indicate that they are out of stock. Rock Auto is my first go to, but no help this go around.

There's no evidence of (2), at least on the ground or a visual inspection of the new connections. When the weather improves, I'll pop the cover on the MC, but I doubt it. The front end was recently rebuilt, so I don't see (3) as a factor. If (4) were in play, wouldn't that affect cold stops...
