Haven't put them back together just finished home porting them and I'm no expert but will bring them to my builder soon and get them inspected and put back together. Looking for other options since I have new Scat I beams and Icon 845s sitting in the box waiting to get the bottom end together...

Anyone using 318 Icon 845 dome pistons with aftermarket heads Edelbrock/Speedmaster or such and did the domes need machining to work , or am I better off with my ported #714 castings

May I ask what torque spec you guys used with SM studs or just what they recommended

Does anyone know which ARP Head stud kit replaces the Speedmaster head stud kit for the Speedmaster #2146 la heads, as I hear the speedmasterl studs strip easy. ?

Just ordered Scat rods , might as well keep everything fresh and dont want to go overboard with the stock stuff and possible extra crank balancing with added weight

I think maybe I just bite the bullet and get the Scat I beams , would hate to end up spending more for stock parts to work than something fresh and lighter

The 68 truck block I have has a forged crank luckily but has the light rods , I do have an 89 truck roller cam truck block with hopefully the stronger rods but wonder if they are Worth resizing and balancing up with the KB 399 pistons

I'm hoping they're built by Scat possibly but not sure , for $70 more I may just go for the Scat . Building around a 400 hp 318 with KB 399.040 pistons

Wondering if anyone has any luck with Summit branded smallblock rods , or should I just go up to Scat I beam

Yes I tried mopac but they said the same thing as everyone else nothing in stock and have to special order from comp. Comp still hasn't set a date on blanks to grind , not really crazy on other cams listed in the same size or larger , just building a mild street application and already have...

I did order from Jegs but when contacting Comp cams they said the did not yet have cores available for grinds , but should not be too long . Apparently they've been waiting for a few months but wont give a date yet
