    steering column rebuild

So I had to remove my steering column to install a new turn signal switch in my 63 Dart. Things went fine and I decided to paint everything before I put it back together. My problem is the section that contains the switch now turns wherever! lol What did I mess up? Does it have anything to...

    A Big Thank You

Looked all over for wheel bearing dust caps for my 63 Dart and couldn't find them anywhere. Posted here for some help and got a new set from Barracudakid! He was a joy to work with and sent the new ones promptly so I wanted to publicly thank him for being a stand up guy!:cheers:

    [WANTED] Wheel bearing dust caps

Nope. These are the ones that Dorman says fit but they are too big around and not tall enough. Thanks though. Mopar people rule. Barraudakid has some so will order them today.

    [WANTED] Wheel bearing dust caps

Looking for either a part or a number for dust caps for my 1963 Dart 170 2dr post. All of the caps I've found so far are too big. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks. Mike

    Control arms

Thanks guys for all the offers! I'll try a press to get them straight first and then if that doesn't work will have to buy some. They look like the PO ran over some rocks and bent the strut rods up in a bow slightly. The alignment shop doesn't want to mess with the front end because of the...

    Control arms

Does anyone know where I can get a set? So far, I've struck out. I was told they are all the same from 63 through 76. Can they be straightened? I'm thing that would be tough without heat and I don't want to use heat as that would probably weaken them. Thanks for any help. Mike Oops...

Anyone ever seen an odd hose like this?

There were some early /6 Sweptline trucks that came with that type of hose. I have no idea why one would be in a car. Mike

    rat or not to rat

I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner. Was out of town and didn't have internet access. So I murdered out 63 Dart 2 dr. The stainless headlight rings were toast so I straightened them and painted them. I did not use primer because it attracts moisture. I used semi gloss enamel with a top...

Okay the conclusion. The drivers side mount was okay but the passenger side needed a spacer. It now drives like it has power steering! Thanks for the help. Mike

Drag link for a 63 Dart

Okay, brought it home to check it out. The motor mounts are good. We used the oil pan of the original engine when we did the swap. The engine came out of a 1972 Dart. I'm now wondering if the newer mounts are thinner than the mounts on the old engine. The steering has been a little stiff...

Drag link for a 63 Dart

Was trying to get the front end rebuilt on my Dart. The guy says my drag link is rubbing on the pan. This is a slant 6. Is there supposed to be a drop link on the Dart? Or is there possibly another problem? Thanks for any help. Mike

    New guy in Reno, Nevada

Yep! Hot August Nights should be around for some time to come. This year we had 6,000 registered and 2,000 on the waiting list. We're starting a new show in Feb. Starting with 400 and it will all be indoors. Should be more fun! Mike

Blacked out, flat black, "murdered out" Lets talk FLAT BLACK!!

I wanted the flat black rat rod look for my 63 Dart. I used Caterpillar's semi-gloss black enamel with an overcoat of Rustoleum's fine textured flat black. It gave me the primer texture I wanted and also sealed everything so I don't have the moisture absorbing problem you get with primer. Whole...

    Vinny the Destroyer

Yep! I was out walking my Dobie when a little yap yap rodent came running out of a little ole ladies yard. My Dobie stood there looking at the mutt and then casually lifted his leg and wet the little one down! I almost fell down from laughing so hard. The little ole lady was pretty miffed...
