How much would you spend on it?

If I am selling OR buying, I give my cell number to interested parties and ask for the others guys. I will call the guy, usually get a recording and ask him to return my call. If he does not and did not try to call me first...... then you know just tire kickers. 90% of them. If an old car is...

How much would you spend on it?

Prices for most things depend on your location....like real estate. Here in Texas, what sells on FB Marketplace are models in demand and the price is not right but cheap!!! Thats the real economy except for the high incom people. That is in general, you will always find the guy that finds...

One thing I have learned over the decades is that that are always fans, lovers, enthusiasts for just about every make and model!!! Either the guy had on years ago or wanted one or dad had one!!! Last all Mopar show I attended was Branson, Mo.probably 10-12 years ago. There was a guy here...

How much would you spend on it?

There are just a few things to consider when buying a classic. What is it worth to YOU? What is it worth to anyone else. This only comes into play if maybe someone else will buy it and its gone and you wanted it. Or if you bought it and later want to sell it. Can you do the work to make it...

Swapping out rear sheetmetal 1974 Swinger to 72

I called the sellers. First guy checks title and yep it is a 74. As it looked to be in pics. Second guy says yes, fat fingers.. it is a 76! ha The 76 is cheap enough but the guy can't send a pic of interior which pisses me off. Obnoxious asshole anyway. The second car is a liitle high IMO...

Swapping out rear sheetmetal 1974 Swinger to 72

Did the rear bumper in '73 still have the tail lites in it?? My puter research tells me nothing definite and the two cars to go see neither have the lights in bumper but they have titles (or so they say!).

anyone ever buy a log cabin kit?

Yes find the show Barnwood Builders. I forget what channel, maybe Discovery ,NO changed to Magnolia. I know people that have them and yes they require more maintainance but those that love them, LOVE them. Remember barndomeniums are a little cheaper than conventional stick (unless YOU do most...

Swapping out rear sheetmetal 1974 Swinger to 72

I have found two prospects in my "$ range" to consider, on the phone and text preliminary haggling. One guy refuses to send a few more pics, he had a grand total of two in ad, or give his location in Houston, til I am ready to make the ride (really????)....and other guy is still stuck somewhat...

Swapping out rear sheetmetal 1974 Swinger to 72

The older I get, the less of a purist I am. Never was that pure anyway. Slap me sill, but I have wanted a 70-2 Swinger (love the lighted back bumper! why? dunno!) project but like most Mopar projects in Tx. overpriced junk. But the 73 (or is it 74?) Swingers with the BIG back bumper etc can...

Signs you're getting old for Classic Car Owners

Ain't that the truth!!! We live in a county that has one traffic light (so the schools kids don't have to manage a 4 way stop sign!). But it is highly populated compared to rural Missouri where I lived 37 years. I can't get in one of my old cars that some a**h*** ain't on MY *** since I don't...

    weight of 383 engine??

We are in the sticks and only pallets here are 40 x 48 which is way big, but the forks on the lift have to of course, get in the pallet. I will call local Fastenal and see if they have a smaller pallet. Years ago a FABO member sent me a torqueflite on a pallet but I don't recall any details...

    weight of 383 engine??

I need to ship Fastenal/ Does Fastenal actually weigh the darn thing or will they just assume this weight close enough?? I really have more to do than make a couple of trips to a scale for exact weight.

Does a '69 air cleaner look wrong on a '70 Dart Swinger 340

That is what I was thinking!!!!! Nuts ain't it!? What is funny way back decades ago I would be at Mopar Nats and pick up a used lid for a 69 Roadrunner because I was too cheap to pay the $20 for a new one!! But back then, I could make that RR new and it was not worth any $30,000 and up!!!

Does a '69 air cleaner look wrong on a '70 Dart Swinger 340

Yea but what does a new repop pie tin costs these days!!!!!!!! I agree, making one close enough ain't hard. :BangHead:
