Wouldn’t the spring center bolt locate the differential where it’s supposed to be?

Couldn’t help it. Took it off, hammered it flat, and welded some key stock on to keep it from bending, and the u-bolts from moving to the side. These have oblong holes for universal fitment, and I don’t care for it. The drivers side didn’t bend like this one, so I left it alone. Double checked...

The bolts walked themselves away from the spring a bit as the plates bent. The spring pin is in the hole as it should be, and the plate is flush with the spring face itself.

This is the entirety of the directions. No torque specs for their mounts whatsoever.

I would’ve been interested to see what they are too. 15 extra pounds shouldn’t bend them. The Calvert split mono u-bolt torque is 60-70.

Installed my new Assassins bars to take the place of Caltracs. Torqued the new Calvert u-bolts down to 60 ft lbs per the Calvert split mono specs, and the plates distorted a bit. Smith Racecraft doesn’t send any torque specs in their single sheet installation instructions. I’m not too overly...

Couple videos on my YT from the last race of the season 9/24. This was the 1/4 final where I had a trip zip and ran .008 off. He was .021 total. Wound up winning the day.

Hell, most box racers today don’t even have to push their throttle down at the line. Burnout buttons, bumping up, bumping down, talk about spoiled :D

For clarification, I don’t hate boxes. I’m considering throwing one in my car for next season just to try my luck beating up on them with their own toys. Here the foot brake guys run Sportsman class if they’re slower than 7.50 in the 1/8. I don’t think it’s fair to force mix any of the classes.

Their delay box is setup to let go of the button when their slower opponents light comes on. They put the other guys dial-in in the box which does the calculations on top of their set delay. Usually the timing system in that class turns on both top ambers at the same time regardless of the dial...

Nobox and foot brake guys get no love here. The sponsors and track operators are all super pro guys, so everything is to their benefit. We outnumber them at least 3 to 1, and pay the same entry fees.

I did it for more consistency in reactions. At the time my converter stalled about 3800. Factory KH discs with factory 10” drums in the rear.

It did work pretty good. I could only bring it up to about 2500 before overpowering the brakes. Before that I had the two step hooked to my brake light switch with a toggle to turn it on or off.

I used a front and rear line lock hooked to a button with two step for a few years before getting a transbrake.

I like to give box guys crap whenever I can. I did it for five years before going back to my Duster.

Box is for rich guys who want to go racing. No box is for drag racers.

After 25 years I finally won our overall track championship. Each class champion runs off at the end of the year for overall track champion. I won Pro class for the third time at this track, so I was in. Beat the Super Pro champion the first round, bye to the final, and then the Sportsman champ...

Talked to my tranny builder. Snug the front band, and back off 1.5 turns. 1/4” space for the rear band. It’s still delayed between the 2-3 shift, but it’s been deadly consistent on the track. Just need to get through one more weekend after this :lol:

It’s strange because mine doesn’t flare up. It just has a moment where it’s between shifts like a stock valve body. Feels like the 68rfe in my diesel shifting. It could be a VB problem as I’ve had trouble with it before. Coan made me a good converter, but their VBs suck.
