    Sell or Trade

Heating/AC control unit from a '72 Dart. 90% condition with good heater core, I've also got the compressor, came off a /6 car. all the switches and what not worked when I pulled it on Saturday. I'll sell it, but I'd be happy to trade it all for a V-8 steering linkage needed for a /6 to 8...

What a bastard. After reading the comments left by people, no one is happy about this douche. I reported the page to Facebook under "Theft and Vandalism" , maybe they'll read the comments and investigate.

    Oil pump drive shaft question

The same thing 90% of everyone else has... Well guys, I dropped the motor off at a machine shop today and he's going to install a new bushing for me for a few bucks. Thanks to EVERYONE for your input and help, I appreciate everything you guys have offered up with this matter. Enjoy your...

    Oil pump drive shaft question

All good advice, I guess this machine shop is going to take care of it for me, not over until it's done though.

    Oil pump drive shaft question

Thanks for the input! My dad told me the same thing about running a 31/64 bit through it. Now, you guys pressed the bushing onto the intermediate shaft, before installing it in the motor? How exactly does this address the problem? Because the shaft binding inside the bushing is the problem...

    Oil pump drive shaft question

I was thinking that myself, about .002" over. You're doing this with the bushing out, before install? Because I had a similar idea about doing this using my drill press with some ultra fine grit paper.

    Oil pump drive shaft question

No, both are removed as this is a new build. I was reading a thread here.. http://ramchargercentral.com/vehicle-help/dist-gear-replacement/ Where they suggest driving an old shaft through the bushing to size it, they also suggest getting a bushing from NAPA because they don't need to be...

    Oil pump drive shaft question

If I could figure out how it works exactly, and get the final ID/OD rough specs, I'd be in business. From the pictures, I can't tell if it's a solid piece moved only by the nut, or if the inner shaft travels through the larger outer by means of turning that hex headed top piece. Although, the...

    Oil pump drive shaft question

So, does anyone actually have this Miller tool? Or the dimensions of one at least? I'm pretty sure I can fabricate one myself, I really just need to know the ending ID and OD of the bushing after install. I don't know many engine shops around here well enough the borrow or rent anything.

    Oil pump drive shaft question

Holy smokes, that sounds pricey as all hell. I made a similar rig to pull the old bushing out, which worked fine. Then I drove the new bushing in easily enough with a wooden dowel and a light hammer. Is there any shadetree way to burnish the new bushing without spending a friggin fortune on a...

    Oil pump drive shaft question

I know this as been asked already and I've read all the responses, but I just need confirmation to go along with what I think I need to do next... On my 360 build, I installed a new brass bushing and went to install the oil pump drive shaft. It didn't drop in, so I gave a few taps with a...

    8 3/4" Rear questions..

Thanks guys! I was worried that I'd have to have the tubes chopped and end up spending more having it converted than it would've been to buy a fitting one outright. I picked up the whole rear for $200, so it's good to know that it won't cost me a ton on the back end.

    8 3/4" Rear questions..

The best I can measure at this time, considering where it is in my shop which has limited access right now, is that it's roughly 54 1/2". Without removing the center section and getting a more exact figure, that's the best I can do.:violent1:

b body rear in a body

I'm literally dealing with this same issue right now. I posted about it last night. I need to get one into my '72 Dart Swinger, I'll be sure to monitor this thread just as closely!

    Jack stands, be careful!

Stands, chocks, and the floor jack for insurance. I've never had luck with ramps, as they always try to slide when I'm trying to ease up on them. I'm cursed with a waterslide steep driveway, and if the rarity arises that I need to jack up something due to lack of space in the garage, I use all...

    8 3/4" Rear questions..

I managed to put my hands on a complete 8 3/4 rear for my Dart, Great shape, 2881489 casting number, Moser axles, great deal. It's supposedly a B-Body rear and by my best measurements, it is. The questions are: 1. What am I going to have to do/have done to fit this under my '72? 2. Since...
