    Pocono Road Course Video

Went last June, had 8 sessions, tons of fun. Two hours of total track time was great. Everybody else dropped out by the last session, so it was just me and my son. He followed the Cuda for a lap at 7:15, 11:30 and 16:00 minutes on the video. He is driving a Tesla 3 set up for the track...

    Pocono Track Night In America

Had a lot of fun running the road course at Pocono Tuesday. Should not have been in the intermediate class due to a lack of pace and talent. Next time we'll stay in the novice class. Had one Hell Cat out there, that was cool. There is a video of two old grandpa's in way over their heads...

    Quick Jack

I bought a Quick Jack car lift (portable unit) this Summer and it has worked out really well. I leave it in the middle of the garage and park the car right over it. It only takes a couple of minutes to position it and the rubber blocks, hit the button and the car is up about 20 inches. It...

    Camber has gone positive

The camber was negative one degree. Now it is visibly positive on both wheels. The cam adjusters have not moved and the wheels has no play in it. Upper CA's are Firm Feel, 1.06 bars and Bilsteins. The car has 36,000 very hard miles on it (quarter miles passes, autocross and road courses)...

Brighten your tail lights the easy way

My tail lights are not bright enough in the rain or fog. I didn't want the complexity or the look of modern LED's so I searched the subject on FABO. It didn't take long to come across some really good advice from Slant Six Dan. He said use Philips 12899RX2 bulbs. So I bought a pair of of...

    Shoot Out at Carlisle

Hotchkis ran their Real Street Shoot Out over the weekend. Rob Byrd and his crew did a great job. There were nine of us, and everyone had a lot of fun running under the lights Friday night. My time put me in the middle of the pack, but second overall for total points. On Saturday they were a...

    [FOR SALE] Attention Young Guns

Is there a young gun looking for a pair of modern seats? I upgraded. These are free. I can bring them to Carlisle in July. One is in very good condition. The other is fully functional, but some outer fabric is torn. It could be repaired.

    HANS Device

I bought an adjustable HANS from the Simpson trailer at the Summer Nationals. After following the directions and mounting the hardware on my helmet, it seems the restraining strap is way too loose. I can bend my head down until the helmet hits my chest. At that point the strap is just out of...

    255's on the front!

So I get back from 1/4 mile racing and go to change the wheels and tires back to my 17 inch street wheels, just for the heck of it I try to put the 255's on the front. Wouldn't you know the damn things fit and look great. The front of the car would wash out on the autocross course with the...

Mopars at Etown 24 Aug 2013

I had a blast Saturday at Raceway Park, went five rounds in the B3 12 second trophy class. A lot of great cars and friendly people having fun. I somehow managed to win on the tree the first four rounds. My strategy was to dial in 0.1 quicker than what I think it will do and then just run it...

    Carlisle Auto Cross

Hotchkis did a great job of running the auto cross at Carlisle this weekend. It was my first time trying it. The car held up well and the crowd was very supportive. My kid's Caliber SRT4 was quicker so I put him in my car. It was fun watching him adjust from FWD to RWD. He still managed to...

    Watkins Glen Videos

Here are two videos from my son's car running at the Glen. He was catching everything out there in his SRT4, including me. You can slide the bar at the bottom to fast forward. For the second day videos: At 11:25 of the first one you can see and hear the Cuda run by on the left when he pits...

    Watkins Glen Experience

We just got back after spending two days at the Glen with Chin Motor Sports. The FABO gang was right, it wasn't the snobs vs the slobs at all. There was a lot of high end cars and wealthy people, but they could not have been nicer. Everybody loved the old Cuda. I must have gotten 500 thumbs...

Watkins Glen: Snobs vs the Slobs

So my son talked me into signing up to run laps at Watkins Glen in May. I checked the roster of cars and they are all Porches, BMWs, Z06's, and Vipers. We are showing up with a 69 Cuda and a 2008 Caliber SRT4. It sounds like a good group but we will be representing the working class. Since...

    Improved Handling

I installed a pair of Firm Feel upper control arms and a PS box with their Stage III upgrade. The control arms got me to 2 degrees positive caster. Now the car gives good feed back. Exiting turns the wheel straightens out on it's own. Even with reduced pump pressure (Ehrinburg trick) I can...
