I think you are on the right track. You need a spreader bar set-up to get a hold of the engine away from the intake. I would think a 3rd pick up point would be needed to keep the ending from rolling over.

If it acts up again you should go to your local bearing supplier and look for a "quad-ring" that will fit in place of the o-ring.

Glad to hear someone interested in getting ABS on their muscle car! I am planning to try this as well, but my initial thought it to get an early Subaru STi set-up. The cars weigh about the same & it has big brakes too.

Machine adapters to bolt to the GIII. Getting them bolted up is the easy, but expensive part. I'm wondering if you can get them under the hood, and clear the engine. I don't know anything about getting the carbs to run, especially on those long intake runners.

The question I have is about how it shifts. I am very used to the modern transmissions and how well they shift, especially with short throw shifters. How does the Passon 5 speed compare to modern transmission shifting and throw? Does it still feel like a muscle car transmission?

Also check out what Pace Performance has for you. I think they have good set-up at a good price to make this work in a retro fit.
