    buns

I heard that an electric carving knife works to cut the foam and I've also heard of using a hot wire to cut through it. We had an upholstery shop re-make our foam on the Charger.

I tend to do a better job of noticing an analog gauge needle move than watching numbers but I think your cluster looks really good.:thumbsup:

    need headliner help

Oh, the sail panel fabric should already be attached to the new headliner if it's like all the others I've seen.

    need headliner help

The GTX we did only had 4 on each side but we scavenged a bunch more from another vehicle. In my opinion 10 on each side would make the job easier by holding the material better as you're stretching it.

If you pull the plastic 'welting' off from the perimeter you will see if there are any clips that are holding the edges in place. They are small metal ones that hold the headliner fabric to the metal seamed edge of the roof panel.

I know that they advise you to remove the glass in that video but we did not. It may be necessary on certain models but didn't make much of a difference on that '71. More pics:

I don't know which style your headliner is. The one that I have in the pics is obviously a bow type. The material is identical to what was original for our cars. I know that my '72 Duster has a stiff cardboard style.

    need headliner help

Prior to installation we searched online for video help. We'd never installed one before. The videos we watched were of an install in a '69 Charger. It helped us familiarize ourselves with the procedure. The videos are sort of lame but they still helped. part1 https://youtu.be/b1j8QbkHLZc...

    need headliner help

Although I didn't buy it myself, I helped a buddy install a blue headliner in his '71 GTX a few weeks ago. It was from Legendary. I've got a new white one down in my basement that I haven't installed yet in our '68 Charger. It's also from Legendary. I posted pictures of the installation in...

    radio ideas

If your original factory radio is in perfect working condition and you want the stock look I would just stay with it. If the car is being modified and a stock appearance isn't critical, there are plenty of aftermarket radios that would be an upgrade. If you are concerned about cutting up the...

    Got my seats reupholstered=pics

The lady that did our upholstery works out of the family's garage that she's converted into her shop. They live out in the country and are real nice folk. Originally we didn't like the way the seams lined up and she re-did them for no extra charge even though part of what we didn't like was...

    Grant horn button help!

AWESOME!! None of the rest of us had the right answer either. It's frustrating that Grant didn't give you better info. I was puzzled by that contact-less design of your button but didn't try to logic out the way it was meant to operate. Congrats!

    Grant horn button help!

Grant makes some horn buttons that install from the backside and are held in place with a snap ring. Maybe your style??

    Grant horn button help!

    Grant horn button help!

The billet adapter will need the 3 bolts threaded into the splined hub now and a flat washer placed over the end of the steering shaft. Followed by the nut. I hadn't tightened any of those fasteners up yet. Now is when I attach the short pigtail wire to the billet adapter which should be...

    Grant horn button help!

OK. I dismantled my Charger wheel and took pics for you. This is my wheel. - All Grant components on the '68 factory 4-speed column. With the wheel removed you can see the factory turn signal switch and the 'roller contact' for the horn. This is the topside of the combination...

    Grant horn button help!

Did you make it clear to them that you were running the billet adapter? I think that may be the main difference in which horn setup you use. I've got the Charger column here in the garage. I'll try to take more pics and do a partial dis-assembly.

    Floor shifter or not?

Unless you're downshifting... With the full manual body I have to constantly up and down shift.

    Floor shifter or not?

I know it would look a bit better without that tab on the column and maybe I'll do like you said and cut it off and fill it. One thing I made sure of before mounting the floor shifter was that I allowed room for the bench seat to still adjust all of the way forward. Without having bent my arm...

    Floor shifter or not?

Actually I still had to cut my arm and angle it back, but the added length of the pickup arm worked great with a bench seat.

    Floor shifter or not?

I went with a Hurst Pro-matic II shifter. I wouldn't have minded keeping the column shift but my new transmission was a full manual valve body with a reverse pattern. I didn't want to risk accidentally bumping it into reverse. The one I ordered is for a pickup. I ordered it because I knew...

    New seats faded need advise

I'm not so sure that the dye would come off on your clothes. When I had my seats repaired in my Barracuda, they sewed in new portions that were damaged and spray dyed cloth portions that had faded. I've used vinyl dyes in the past with good results, although they did have a tendency to show...

    Got my seats reupholstered=pics

    - Looks good! I don't understand why more people don't opt for reupholstering. You get to choose the pattern, grain, and colors that you want. We even had emblems embroidered in ours. They totally rebuilt our back seat starting with a bare seat spring. We had modified it to clear our...

1967 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Kick Panels 67 68 69 | eBay I bought mine off of eBay. When you take into account that you are getting a new pair of kick panels and a new pair of speakers that are already mounted (and sound pretty good) it's not a terrible price.
