Thanks big66340! I'd always heard that the earlier heads were better but was all screwed up about when those spacers were being used and with which combo.

This must be where my confusion comes in. I had seen the spacers for sale before and assumed they were for adapting the 331/354 intake to a 392. So if you or Rusty could clarify a bit more... - Which heads need the spacers? Are the 392 heads in need of them to use a 331 intake? I still don't...

Aren't the 331 and 354 narrower than the 392? - Sort of like the difference between 383 and 440.

I've never run one of these shields before. Where are the attachment points? Does it work with both big and small block 727s? Are there any clearance issues with firewall/transmission tunnel?

That's a fair price. We paid about twice as much for the used M/Ts that came in primer. It might be a lot of work, but they should clean up really nice. If I was in the market for another set, I'd jump on them myself. The ones I bought are pictured below (before and after).

I might be interested. From what I can see it looks like there is no crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, harmonic balancer, water pump, fuel pump, oil pan,oil pump, distributor,... What all else is missing? (a.e. Head bolts? Distributor intermediate shaft? etc...) Thanks in advance.
