    Stroker Plugs

I run autolite copper plugs in my stroker. I would have to pull one to get number cause I think they been in there like 10 years. I highly recommend autolite coppers.

    Stroker Plugs

I recently put these wires on my small block stroker. Fit was good and they have a nice audible CLICK when you push the wire onto the spark plugs: DODGE MSD Ignition 5530 MSD Street Fire Spark Plug Wire Sets | Summit Racing

Target market night be some fat cat having shop build E body or second gen Charger just throw the 1500 hp engine on the tab, why not? Didn't Helephant sell out in a day? Hodges Restoration just built a '68 Charger resto mod with Helephant, some street car, someones toy to play with. Not...

Pretty sure '69 Buick GS 400 was a square engine. Going by memory I thinks its around 4 inch bore and around 4 inch stroke.

Compared to the run of the mill Felpro complete gasket kit head gaskets which are usually .054 thick. Most ppl buy complete gasket kit and use those thick head gaskets.
  9. 340sFastback

    very mild 360 build.

Good choice on those . 028 thick head gaskets give a slight bump up in compression.

    Are 340’s rare

When I had my stock 340 in there 600 Holley some under steering linkage headers, 2 1/4 exhaust, stock 1 5/8 inner diameter chrome tips, 323s, street radials, some crap mufflers, it usually ran 14.2 to 14.0. One time at Cecil Co track it went 13.90, it hooked, all the stars aligned, tail wind...

    Are 340’s rare

I built my stroked 340 with a clean std bore '71 block back in 2008 so my original std bore numbers matching 340 could be set aside and not take risk of grenading blowing apart. Back then the 340 block cost me $500 and it was exceptionally clean. That $500 was a very small percentage of...

    Are 340’s rare

Sounds like we got some in here who think weight of reciprocating assemblies have no impact on how fast an engine can rev calling other ppl morons? You know like gee pistons go up, reverse direction, go down, reverse direction, go back up, repeat. So gee how can weight of pistons and rods...

Yeah, and what will they be worth 5 to 10 years out?
  17. 340sFastback

    Are 340’s rare

Short stroke 340s have HEAVY pistons, HEAVY. 4 inch crank small blocks have short very lite pistons. Like I said earlier my 414 revs way faster then my stock 340 ever did. If I stomp gas pedal to the floor the 414 will scream up to 6,000 rpm faster then it takes for gas pedal to go down...

    Are 340’s rare

Yeah, you are 100 percent right, the 340s are a whole .130 inch larger bore then 318s. Not remotely true, yep, thanks for that correction, your the man.

    Are 340’s rare

My 414 revs way way way faster then my stock 340 ever dreamed of. Not sure what all going on with your buddies Dart but my car pulls hard as hell over 80 mph. Over 80 is when its most impressive compared to the lower speeds.

I like flowkooler pumps run one on mine works really good. They are supposed to reduce cavitation etc. You running 1.88 valve heads?

    Yeah I'd take a 340 over a 318 too. And I appreciate 340s too.
  24. 340sFastback

    Are 340’s rare

Yeah forget about 318 same stroke as a 340 and bore only marginally smaller then a 340. But because they originally had choke heads, low compression, single exhaust they are boat anchors garbage should be junked. They are not suitable starting points ect. And like I said, you can not reason...

Its not just numbers matching ppl. There are armies of ppl who think there is some magic in 340s. Some mysterious power making something in the 340s. Baby Hemi, X heads are gold ect. Any other small blocks are sub standard in their eyes. Forget about the open chamber heads, lack of quench...

    Are 340’s rare

Back in 2008 I drove to NJ to buy a std bore 340 block. $500 with main caps no rust ect. I built the stroker with that block. If I had to do it today I would look for 360 roller cam block to start with. 340s in good cond are cash cows these days pricy supply demand out if whack.

Big Valve X Heads on Low Comp 72 340

Yeah but if ya got X heads for sale all the ppl that think there is some magic in them is a blessing.

Big Valve X Heads on Low Comp 72 340

May as well run the car as is I don't think you gonna gain nubs. Open chamber heads, HEAVY *** pistons, ZERO quench, low compression, short stroke. If you happy with it now then just run it as is enjoy the car.
  29. 340sFastback

    very mild 360 build.

Yeah cause if crank rods aint in there you can reach up from the bottom and guide it in. Less risk of chipping scraping a cam bearing. But a skilled careful person can get cam in with bottom end assembled and not scrape chip a cam bearing. Its just a lot easier with bottom end not in the way...
