speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

Highly likely Summit could be sued selling counterfeit parts. But great to see Summit do the right thing and stop selling them.

Sounds like new drag racing, donut circuses fines going up.

Surprising LA police cracking down. That's like a big cashless bail, defund the police, criminals are victims, cops are villains, putting minorities in jail is racist, its legal to steal trash bags full of goods from stores area right? Sanctuary city too isn't it?

Rear Main Seal Leak Ritter Block

I could not get rear main to stop leaking on stock 340 block until I put thin film of sealer between rear main cap and block surface to keep the oil from getting out between the two surfaces. After that no leaks.

How to determine the needed stall speed?

If you want the right converter have a reputable company like Ultimate Converter Concepts build one for your combination. The off the shelf units won't stall at the advertised stall on every car. A high quality converter will make a huge difference so that is an area you want to spend the money.

Brian did the cam in for my engine too. Works great.

    410'

I would ditch the factory heads and get some RHS heads. That way you'll have a quench combustion chamber and can run 10:1 or more compression on pump gas. With the open chamber factory heads they won't have quench and will be more prone to detonation so you'll be forced to run lower...

    340 stroker kit??????

Have a good local shop balance it. Usually the "balanced" kits are way off and have to be redone if you want it right. Member ou812 sells stroker kits, send him a PM he will hook you up. And like Moper said you will want a good local shop to go over the kit and check all the tolerances.

    stroker question?

If you can afford it send those heads up to Shady Dell Speed to get ported. That will allow those extra cubes to breath.

NEW 4" CRANKS $250.00 any good?

For a 4" stroke engine you really need to go with a forged piston because of the excessive piston speeds. Now if your building a low RPM stroker for a towing vehicle then cast would work. Remember, you will be over reving the engine by accident occasionally in a performance application.

    4- piston caliper "sleeving"?????

I use a Motive Power Bleeder to pressure bleed the brakes. Its gets me a nice high and tight brake pedal: http://store.motiveproducts.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=motive&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=105175197&Count2=22315621 Another thing those 4 pistons set ups like is 7/8" rear wheel...

    4- piston caliper "sleeving"?????

The 4 piston calipers on my car are over 20 years old and work perfectly. I flush them out every year or so. Not a daily driver though. I don't think you need stainless steel if you flush them out regularly.

Maximum Lift Edelbrock performer rpm Heads

I am running Crane 10 degree retainers on my Eddie heads and with no shims the install height would be 1.86". I am pretty sure the limitation on lift is due to the retainers and springs those heads ship with. Some one like Moper, BJR Racing, or Ryan at Shady Dell would know for sure. Also...

    new heads or stroker kit

If your budget is the cost of a stroker kit OR a set of Eddie heads then I would do what moper says and maximize what you have. A 360 with x heads is a nice combo so a little more cam, like a Voodoo, with the correct springs, 750 Vacuum Secondary carb, and a good curve on that distributor would...

    Thinking outside the box

It you want to compare late model chevy heads to mopar heads you should probably compare them to the new 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi heads. Indy makes some serious heads for small block mopars that have big ports and can be ported to flow some good numbers. Indy also sells IndyBrocks which are...

    Iron Ram heads from Hughes

The performance is definitely there with the Iron Ram/EQ heads. I have also heard the quality of the cast is very nice too. As far as rocker arm gear goes this is what I have for my Eddie heads: $450 - Comp Cams Pro Magnum rockers $ 80 - Hughes Engines hold down kit. $144 - Comp Cams...

    Iron Ram heads from Hughes

If your gonna run the stock 340 exhaust manifolds I'd go with the EQ heads because the Eddie heads need an adapter plate to space them out on the driver's side. Also the EQ heads have a stock look to them unlike the boxy Eddie heads. I went with the Eddie heads due to the light weight...

do i need to restrict oil to lifters with roller cam

Here is another statement from their Chrysler tech notes: "Even though COMP Cams® roller lifters will work without oil system or lifter bore modifications, it is highly recommended that on any racing engine the lifter bores be modified. This will ensure that in the case of a pushrod failure...
