    There isn't supposed to be water holes in the back of the intake...look at any other small block manifold...no holes either. There are coolant holes that mate to the block, in the head surface as well, for circulation.

    It is starting to sound like compression. maybe do a compression check w/all the plugs removed and the throttle propped open...then we'll get a better idea.

    You could try limiting the mech. advance by welding up the slots inside the dizzy. When does the dizzy reach full mech. advance? If its fairly early, you could also try one heavier spring inside. ...or it may be all carboned up. I'd try the "drip water down the carb while revving the snot out...

    Mostly, I think they're just overseas rip-offs of Edelbrock designs. I had a friend who put one on his Off-Brand street rod. He seemed to like it.
