This might actually work. Will have to shorten the shaft and maybe drill a hole closer towards the cable. And then crimp it well. Will keep you posted.

[WANTED] '65 console park lock cable A904

Ok, so I was wrong again, the cable for the '65 A-body console is 2534 415. Anyways, the cable I got from Don is too short, it had a groove, but in a different place and I don't know what that might have been out of. Now I'm thinking I might be able to fix my old cable with something this...

[WANTED] '65 console park lock cable A904

So I got the cable out. Good thing I looked in the manual, because it tells you to attach a wire to the end of it, so you can pull the new one through the floor to the shifter. It attaches to a bracket, but it's different from the one shown in @65 Dartman 's photo. My bracket has a 90 degree...

[WANTED] '65 console park lock cable A904

Ok, I will take mine out and measure the length. The ones that Imperial Services is selling show that the console cable has a deep groove on the shifter side and the column one doesn't. Console: Column shift:

[WANTED] Valve Cover for 1981-1987 Hydraulic Slant 6

Looks like you found one. I had that same issue before I ended up swapping the slant for a small block. I was told you can swap the head for an earlier head and keep the hydraulic lifters and rocker arms etc. That way use an earlier valve cover, which is MUCH easier to find. If I remember...

    [WANTED] V8 A904 dipstick

So the "wrong" one is about 22" long including the grip and I need one that is about 2-1/2" shorter, so around 19-1/2" overall. I have the tube - I just need the dipstick. This is the (wrong) one I have, so the correct one should be around 15-3/4" to the wide part of the rubber plug.

    [WANTED] V8 A904 dipstick

I'm looking for a A904 transmission dipstick for my 1965 Barracuda. I have two dipsticks already, but they are both too long. One came from the slant 6 I just pulled out of the car, but the slant 6 tube is too long and the exhaust manifold is in the way. The other dipstick I bought on ebay is...

    [WANTED] 1965 A904 V8 transmission SoCal

Thanks for the advice, pishta. But like I said, I want to keep it as simple and cheap as possible. I don't want to mess with a new shifter/ drive shaft etc. I'm also in no hurry at all - I'm just gonna wait until I find what I'm looking for. The slant 6 is running really well.

    [WANTED] 1965 A904 V8 transmission SoCal

I have a Lokar kickdown cable on my Super Six slant right now that I am pretty sure I will be able to reuse. It seems like everything but the 904 is relatively easy to find, that's why I want to start there. Ideally I'm looking for a rusted out or wrecked '65 Valiant with a V8 that I could just...
