    It's for a B block so 470, my bad. I'm really tempted but I probably wouldn't be able to run the 4 speed with the unholy amount of power that it would create which would be a big turn off for me. Maybe make the 470 a stock appearing 383 for one of our Newports :D

    Slant to BB k frame?

    It wouldn't work because the width between the brackets of the /6 spool mount is smaller than that of of the V8 mount by almost an inch so the engine mounts wouldn't be able to fit the K-frame.

    That's alright. Good luck with your Demon! I've never heard of someone do an A-body with a 361. I think I'm the only A-body owner that's using a 413 engine. These big blocks are oddities :)

    If its a big block it could be a 361-383-413 engine. Don't know what the codes mean but those are the big blocks of that time period.

    Welcome!!! I too am a 16 year old. I'm doing a big block swap in my '67 Valiant (same engine bay as yours). I'm using a 413 engine (basically a 440 block). The 440-413-426 wedges (RB blocks) are taller & wider than the 361-383-400 wedges (R blocks). The R blocks fit better with more room making...

    The width of the spools is different for /6 & SB k members. If the spools fit your /6 perches than their the correct ones your looking for. If there wider than their the SB to BB mounts.

    You need a 187 oil pan. They came in late '60s early '70s big block C-body's.

    I know Hemmings Muscle Machines had a recent feature of a pale yellow, #'s matching, un-butch car. I think they didn't make a 4 speed available because of the extra parts they mandated for 440 4 speeds and the didn't want to produce these. (18 spline A-Body trans, 11" clutch, A-Body Dana 60)...
