I had the same thing. Drained the antifreeze, removed the stud, cleaned and dried the stud and hole and re installed with red locktite. Let sit for 48 hours. Problem solved. Good luck.

If it bugs you you can stick a magnet on a screw driver and fish around.

I would be disappointed beyond words! Odds of a weak valve are slim. Check everything!!!!!! Guide, pushrod bent. Everything! Too expensive to risk.

What does it make the noise? Startup, when cold, when warm, when under acceleration, when in gear, when driving? Have you done any work to it lately like exhaust modifications? How is the oil pressure?

Its actually easier if you measure before you get to top dead center. All you have to do is split the difference. I'm guessing you are going to start by finding top dead center and then use a magnetic dial indicator on the cam to see where the events fall.

I used an old alternator bracket fastened between 2 head bolts with another bolt in the middle to use as the stop. Ugly but functional.

On the one hand is a seller that didn't sell what was represented. On the other hand is a member going above and beyond anything I've ever heard of. You cant fix everything but replicaracer43 is the best.

I would talk to the machine shop. They maybe can verify the work/paperwork. 6 years is a long time, I'm skeptical. Good luck!
