    Disappointing dyno results

Do you have a qualified engine builder helping you? I ask because going to 1.6 rockers may be an easy solution. It will simulate a more aggressive cam but you need to have sufficient piston to valve clearance. Will let you keep your carb too.

    Curses, chineesiomed again (fuel sender)

Yes that little dimple prevents the filter from closing off the inlet by going to far. Tough to see but I kinda flared the end to prevent it slipping off the end also.

    Curses, chineesiomed again (fuel sender)

When I removed the sending unit, I noticed the sock was all the way down against the flat end of the inlet. It must have moved from the vibration cause it worked fine for years. The sock has a sealed end to it for some reason. I remember the original sock being mesh on the sides and ends. So...

    Curses, chineesiomed again (fuel sender)

A little background. A few years ago I rebuilt my fuel system. New tank, sender, Holley blue fuel pump, regulator, fuel line, filter, carb, everything. Going for a ride to celebrate fathers day with the family, car stutters and acts starved for gas! Limp it back home at 30 mph (while I get...

What to do with filler neck

I think the only real concern is if flakes come off and clog things further down the line. I think anything dissolvable by gas would be so diluted it wouldn't be an issue. I would throw a few nuts and small bolts in the tube and shake the hell out of it and see what flakes come out.

Help an idiot fix his carb

You can drill and tap JB weld if it doesn't see too much stress. Might use a smaller screw to leave a bit more materiel.

Lock ring and new fuel tank

Sounds like you have the wrong part. If the correct part is unavailable look into a parts wanted post. Bet someone here has the right part for you. Mine was tough to install with the right part. Had to install a screw hose clamp to give me traction to push it in.

    fuel sender gauge gasket

Just finished installing my new sending unit so heres a few helpful tips. I measured the new unit retaining ring and the old one. The new one is 1.1 mm and the old one is 1.5mm, so I used the original thicker one. I didn't have a brass drift but I ground off the tip of an aluminum gutter...

    Anybody heard of these?

Rusty, as technical editor I feel its your responsibility to buy one for each style carb out there and run a before and after comparision with graphs and charts and a paragraph on the back of each one. Oh wait, that's what the seller is supposed to do. Why no numbers, just a hand held video...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Wiped a lobe on the cam fuel pump once. It move the pump enough for the car to idle and run at low rpm but while I drove it the carb used more than the pump put out. Discovered it by pulling the pump and cranking the engine with a post in the hole and noting how little the post moved. Ended...
