Carb help * the famous debate and 2x different cars

Valerian, Why does the Edel need a kit? These can be usually stripped down & no gaskets needed if you are careful. As for the 750 Edel not flowing like a Holley..... If the measurement of the airflow for each was done using the same pressure drop, then 750 cfm is....750 cfm.

Carb help * the famous debate and 2x different cars

STR12, I am trying to point out to folks the BULLSHIT that Newbomb Turk serves upon this website; to try & stop people with his NONSENSE advice. He also gets called into question on another forum he sprouts his BS on. So far on this forum, in the last few days, we have had: - 12:1 CR is fine...

Carb help * the famous debate and 2x different cars

NB Turk, I don't give advice. My BS meter is starting to peg the needle in the red zone with all your BS. Your comments further show how little you really know. Air bleed action is so fast & transient that A/F sensors are far too slow to pick it & only react after the fact. Below is...

NewbombTurk, You are in no position to criticise anybody else's carb tuning skills. In one of your earlier alter ego's, you didn't know how an air bleed works.....

70 duster 340 727 vs 65 vette 396 425 solid cam holley 4spd motor was way over rated best of 3

Nobody is disputing how good the 340 was....& still is. These guys below nailed it....revved to 6500 rpm....with a 625 AVS...read their other comments in the text as to why the 340 was so good as a package.

75 Duster: Six Pack or 4bbl?

I would run with a 800 cfm TQ. Small primaries will give great response/mileage & huge secs will give HP. There has also been improvements in intake manifold design since the days of the 6 pack. If the engine is basically stock, low numerical gear ratio, I would use the Performer intake. If...

70 duster 340 727 vs 65 vette 396 425 solid cam holley 4spd motor was way over rated best of 3

Back in the day? If I am reading the chart correctly, those times were from 1998 onwards....not 1971 -72. You will get no argument from me about how good the 340 was/is. What I would argue is: if the 340 was quicker with a TQ [ my favourite carb ] than the 625 AVS, that it was because of the...

    Quick Question..

Electrical theory can be a challenge for those who have not studied it....& sometimes for those that have!!!!! If you hear a noise in the engine, oil leaking on the ground, smoke coming out of a breather, you can see, hear, feel the problem. But electricity works in silent ways. Some...

    Quick Question..

Make sure the thick starter cable lug is not resting against metal.... I don't see the need for a cut off switch. Momentarily connect the remaining battery terminal by touching it to the terminal. If all good, proceed.

Perfectly Restored 1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix Is a Forgotten One-Year Gem

And look how far ahead Chrys engineering was..... That model had an alt. I believe it was about 1964 before GM used them. Recessed door handles, since 1957. Torsion bar suspension, anti-dive braking. My 1960 Phoenix had rubber over-riders on the front bumper, not seen on other makes until years...

[1] Use a s/s steel bolt to prevent further problems. [2] If the head of the bolt is too big, file/grind the head so that a 9/16" spanner fits. [3] Or use a socket [ Allen ] head bolt. [4] You are not anchoring the Titanic, so above simple fixes will work.....

    Cams for Dummies ??

Find David Vizard's 128 rule on the web. '128' covers parallel valve engines; it is certainly better than phoning a cam company & getting advice from the phone jockey reading from a computer screen who most likely never worked on a Mopar engine. DVs 128 rule was developed after he tested...

    Master Cylinders

The problem with many m/cs is that are made out of Detroit's wonder metal: cast iron. Which rusts, especially once the brake fluid has absorbed moisture. If you intend to keep the car, best bet is to have the m/c s/s lined. As the name suggests, the m/c is bored out & a s/s liner fitted. Lasts...

Catching a non-rotating lifter on first startup.

I looked at the video 3 times & 2E seems to be rotating ok. Others are also. If the lifter base is convex, but does not rotate, most likely cause is no taper or wrong taper on THAT lobe.

Remy, One thing at a time....& you will get through this: - If the cam is stock [ or you are not sure ], set initial timing to 12* - If the cam is bigger than stock, set initial to about 20*. - With the engine idling, using a torch, look into the pri barrels, look from the brass booster tip...
