    340. Was it yours?

2B219989 would be a late '72 engine which probably has a cast crank. Cool for sure either way....

    Found 1971 340 engine 1E1158523 (?)

You obviously have one of the '71 340 Swinger Specials made in Ontario and sold in Western Canada. A very rare car indeed. Do you have any idea when the car was brought over the border to the U.S. from Western Canada? The original block might still be in Canada. Have you tried contacting @cliff...

    Anyone spotted this 1970 dart

If it was factory, it probably was a special ordered one off or a factory boo-boo. What color was the interior?

This is a great gesture, I hope you find it's proper home! Maybe place a post in the lost & found section of the website, you will probably get a better response........

    '69 340

It would be out of an A-Body for sure, the E-Bodies didn't appear until the '70 model year, and the B-Bodies in '69 didn't have the 340 as an option. And of course, never in a C-Body or pickup.........

    340

Welcome to the site, I will try to keep an eye out for it, I live in Lethbridge, Alberta now but I am from Cranbrook, B.C. originally. I recognize the V.I.N. as a car that I used to own several years ago when I still lived in Cranbrook. It was a 340 3 on the floor '71 Demon plum crazy car with...

    I have 1973 Block #3B519286

3 is a 1973 model year car that the engine went in B is the assembly plant that the car was built in (Hamtramck) 519286 is the sequential serial number assigned to the car. (It came from a very late build, probably June or July of 1973) An example of the V.I.N. would be VS29H3B519286 if it...

What the heck... I'll give it a shot

I thought i would stump you guys on the Kokanee thing! At the time, Kokanee was made only in B.C. and sold only in B.C. Actually, it is made in Creston, B.C. by The Columbia Brewing Company about 70 miles from where I grew up and was THE beer out there......... Kokanee beer - Wikipedia

What the heck... I'll give it a shot

They ended up in my yard after the drunk hockey players crashed them. I traded them for a Pinto, a case of Kokanee, and a bag of pucks.........

What the heck... I'll give it a shot

Another one would be Valley Speed and Marine. My brother bought a '71 Duster with a 440 in it that the conversion was done there in the early '80s. It was orange with a black hood and Cragar SS wheels on it if you remember the car from back then running around your area. Not a very good job...

What the heck... I'll give it a shot

The first thought that came to me was ''Boomer's Performance Center''. They had one in Cranbrook, B.C., and it had a kangaroo as the mascot on the sign. Another possibility could be P.A.W., but I thought that it was in Prince George. They might have had both of them there in the '80s though, the...

    Looking for the Gurus

Well it was a stab in the dark by me anyway. Sorry if i gave out misinformation, i was merely trying to help.

    Looking for the Gurus

Okay, i'll take a stab at it. The ''late'' writing on the sheet refers to parts unavailable at the time the car was intended to be built. This would also add up to the ''special handling'' comment at the bottom of the sheet because the car was built in stages and put aside until all of the...

    found 2 340's

You're right. My bad. I meant late '70 or early to mid year '71 as an actual casting date.
  22. Dartnut

    found 2 340's

From the serial numbers, they are both from fairly late build '71 model year cars built at Hamtramck. So the actual casting date on the side of the blocks would probably be late '71 to early '72 as a guess.

    70 340 Block

I guess the fender tag shows the order number and options, but not a lot else other than order number and the V.I.N. then. So, without a broadcast sheet, you can't tell if the cars were actually built back to back, right?
  27. Dartnut

    70 340 Block

Great information here. A question for you is if the cars have sequential serial numbers and you don't have a build sheet for either but you have a fender tag for both, can you determine if they were indeed built back to back? The cars in question are both '69 Coronets, one a 2 door and one a 4...

Oh, and before i forget, i am from B.C. originally, and i know what it's like to go through ICBC to get a lost or not in the system car registration. It's a real PITA. If the car comes up stolen, you are screwed. Does the guy selling it to you have any paperwork? If not, that's a big red flag...
