    Tire size for easy steering

Well, I'm going to change my '69 Dart next year from manual to power steering. After 2 major shoulder injuries, (one on each side) I tried to drive the car and enjoy it as is, but it's a pain to drive.(literally) I have driven manual steering cars off and on all of my life including a '69 Super...

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

They didn't put metric speedometers in cars and trucks in Canada until the 1977 model year. Mexican A-Bodies had them though if you are talking about North America...

    Tyres.... sorry Tires question

According to your V.I.N., your car is the 5,267th car built for the 1973 model year in Hamtramck Michigan. A very early August build for the model year. Also, according to the V.I.N, it is a 318 V8 car so it should have big bolt pattern wheels on it, probably the standard 4 1/2'' wide. BTW, all...

    Rallye Wheels - Help Needed

Well, I think that if he uses a piece of thin metal to insulate the center cap from grinding spatter or excessive heat and I will stress excessive heat, it's do-able. That's why I suggested a small butane torch not a regular torch, mapp gas, or rosebud! It just takes a little heat to go a long...

    Rallye Wheels - Help Needed

The center cap is a '72 only SBP rallye wheel cap so I bet the wheels are '72 vintage too. (not that it matters in your case) Drilling the top off the lug nuts is a good idea, and then use penetrating fluid on the exposed end is a good plan of action. That might also relieve some tension between...

    225-70-14 on Rally Wheels

I would say that you will be good to go if the wheels are factory. They should be 5 1/2'' wide and the tires are close to an original E-70-14.

    Mopar 15 inch wheel question?

They are a common wheel, so getting some should be easy and relatively cheap. The first place that I would look in the junk yard would be a late '70s or early '80s pickup/van/or big car like a Cordoba. Junk yards commonly have piles of wheels and tires laying around, so you could sift through...

Where to buy Mopar Ralley wheels?

Good advise. I never grow tired of looking at your Dart, BTW!

    Rally Wheel Value

You got a good deal there. The 340 engine sounds interesting. What are the specs and price on that?

    Rally Wheel Value

$225 Canadian is a very fair price for what I see pictured as long as you verify that they aren't pitted badly, especially in the bead area. Check them for straightness as well......... What are you putting them on?

    Poverty Hub Caps

Agreed. I've seen lots of them of of old vans and pickups. They are kind of unique, gives them a real plain-jane cheap look........

    If you could only pick......

It all depends what they are going on, but my vote is for Rallye wheels on an A-Body, and Magnum 500s on a B-Body. Body colored steel wheels with pie plate hubcaps have their place too, especially on a Plain-Jane car. I really don't like the cop car wheels unless they are on a cop car or a Super...

    Rally wheel color

Personally, I don't like it. I've seen some rallye wheels that are chromed too and I don't like that look either. If you leave them the factory silver with the trim rings and center caps, they look good on almost any car. But that's me, do what makes you happy.........

What kind of rims and tires are these on this Hemi Dart?

Agreed. Great looking car, but with the header leaks and lack of ''lumpiness'' of the cam makes it sound like a demo derby car.

15” limited choices: Cooper Cobra vs Mastercraft Avenger vs BFG Radial T/A vs ?

I've always liked the BFG Radial T/As. I've had good luck with them for years, however, I don't use tires in general to their full potential anyway.........

Dog dish hubcap and rim paint question.

Agreed. Also, i'd bet if the customer wanted body colored steelies and pie plate hubcaps when the car was new, the dealership would have been more than happy to do it for you............

Dog dish hubcap and rim paint question.

Black semi gloss steel wheels and the plain ones on the left would have been factory for your car. The hubcaps in the middle were for Dodges only as mentioned, and the ''Plymouth Division'' ones on the right were factory on '69 to '71 Plymouths, so they would be incorrect for your car, even...

Time to Buy Tires for the Duster......help please.

I have about 1 1/2'' between the side of the tire and the leaf springs on both sides. I could go 275 60 15s easily with the wheels offset at about 1'' more on the inside or 4 1/2'' backspace as some call it. I tried factory 15 x 7'' rallyes on it and it was getting very close to the wheel lip...

Time to Buy Tires for the Duster......help please.

I run on my '74 Dart Sport i run 14 x 5 1/2'' rallyes on the front with a 215 70 14 tire with no problems. On the back, i have a '69 B-Body 8 3/4'' stock width rear with the spring perches moved in 1'' total to make it the same as A-Body spring width with a set of Super Stock (002 and 003)...

    MOPAR HISTORY LESSON

Is there an actual advantage to BBP vs SBP?

I go with BBP all of the time when i fix up these cars. The SBP stuff is weaker, harder to find in good shape, more expensive when you do, and generally a pain in the ***. The only time i would stay with SBP is if i was restoring a car to factory stock on a rare A-Body. Wheel selection is a lot...
