    VIN Rivets

You could doctor regular rivets to look like the factory rosette rivets to be more accurate if you want. It would take some skill with a die grinder, and then paint them black...

    PowerSteering

A simple adjustment. Put the front of the car on jack stands so the wheels are in the air, loosen the valve mount on the top of the steering box where the hoses attach, start the car, and move the casting side to side until the wheels don't move on their own and tighten the valve down. I have...

    WWP Paint Code

My best guess is white and the P stands for the painted upper door frames which would be red.

Who Is In the Market for Early ABodies These Days?

This is a fascinating topic. Myself, I just wasn't into the early A-Bodies, at least not to buy one. I did have one that was given to me in the early '80s, it was a '65 Valiant wagon with a 225 (blown up) slant 6 and a 3 in the tree. Very rusty. White with a red interior. (what else?) I sold it...

    Dodge Dart Alargado (limo)

I love this car. It's different, and I like different cars. The woodgrain dash treatment and the console 4 speed really set this one off. Thanks for posting!

    Rolled back odometer anyone?

If you really wanted to piss some people off, take a rebodied '70 340 car, roll the speedometer back to zero, and put a 350 4 barrel small block Chevy in it, and stamp the V.I.N. of the car into the side of the block and call it a ''Matching numbers all original concept car''.

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

You do good work and obviously know what you are doing. Looking forward to more updates and pics as this build progresses.

Have you heard it run? That's a big factor before you get in too deep....

    Vin number question

I'm not versed very well with pre 1967 V.I.N. numbers, but for what it's worth, the last 6 digits should represent the total production of cars coming out of that build plant. That would include ALL Plymouths, Dodges, and Chryslers that were built there and all configurations be it 4 door...

The Most Devastating Engineering Miscue Found in Early A-Bodies

Let's not forget the 13'' wheels. ugh.........

    Wild in the streets!

For some reason, the car just looks ''right''. From the wheels to the patina, I wouldn't change a thing.........

The Most Devastating Engineering Miscue Found in Early A-Bodies

Agreed 100% on the 13'' wheels and the sbp as well as the 7 1/4'' rear ends. Also, I may add that the brakes were too small, the 7/16'' studs were too weak, and the ball joints were too small. But, one has to remember that the cars were originally designed to be a cheap commuter slant six for...

I loved it! It's nice to see how they built cars differently in other parts of the world..........

Rarity (and desirability) of a slant six/ factory 4 speed?

Rare doesn't always equal desirability or an easy sell. If you like it, then go ahead and buy it and don't think about resale. I bet that there are a lot of slant 6 fans out there and would love to have this car especially because it's a 4 speed. But, the price would have to be comparatively low...

Was this a Hurst rent a car?

Do you have a broadcast or build sheet that backs this up being a Hertz rent a car? I had a '71 Duster 318 column auto with an 8 3/4'' 2:76 open ratio rear end in it. It was an Avis rent a car, and on the bottom of the broadcast sheet it said Avis Sales in typed comments. Nothing on the fender...

1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

Ha Ha Ha! You know that i was just kidding! Good on you Rob, that patina is what some pay big buck$$$$ to recreate. I like the fact that you have the stones to drive it and enjoy it when most people would hate it for not being a concours show car all painted up and fancy. To me, another one...
