I ran an automatic with a cable shift in my 4spd '69 for a couple years. All I did was let the O-C spring hold the clutch pedal to the floor. Was glad I didn't pull the peddle out as I decided to go back to 4spd.

While you're waiting for those new covers why not try it. You just might surprise yourself. The only one I've done is for a seam on my '05 Ram driver seat bottom cover. It's held up pretty well for the $25 invested (maybe 5-6 years now). The foam made it too tough to get the seam closed...

Had my car since '80. All eight studs had those spacers. Four were cracked. I replaced all with nylon spacers from Sears hardware.

Maybe drill a few holes, deburr the back side, pull the support tight up to the body, and plug weld it back on? Get a better penetrant than WD.

Here's a basic stitch anyone can do pretty quick..... I did my old Sport Fury that way and didn't like it so I pulled it all back out. There is a cross stitch that looked better IMO. Took me longer to do as I recall.

FWIW, I used this DK product on my rear deck and fold down seat back that were faded out to light gray, lol. It's not spray can stuff but a concentrate ya' mix with water in a spry bottle. It worked fairly decent but not as black as new carpet. It doesn't harden up like the spray can stuff.
