Most go with the new axle and larger drum setups these days. Way back, a lot of folks had their SBC axles plugged and redrilled to 4-1/2" BC. As you can see here, the redrilled 1/2"-20 R holes get close to the edge of the stock flange. The redrilled holes need to be perfect on the locations or...

FWIW, OP needs to know what works so he doesn't buy the wrong lugs when sourcing. My stash includes shorter lugs, 5/8" shank I believe, that were the standard issue back in the '70s. Three of these even have a lead on them. They were notorious for loosening up.

Measure . What shank diameter? What shank length? How many?

An example which would also include the weight of the omitted screw bosses........ FWIW, The old rally centers I've had in the past always had 5 screws. One had to check that the new tire mounter reinstalled them all and didn't break any off. This outfit may have the correct screws available...

If it helps, 165 SR on 15"X5"-3-1/2" BS. It's 25-1/2" tall tire with 2" Hookers. The taller stance helps but the passenger side can be brutal on a right turn into an uphill driveway. The D70-14s, approximately the same height, way back were even worse as I recall.

FWIW, My old "street only" Cragar Vari-Fits had no recess for the oblong washers either. They came with them though.... And they would twist into the spoke if ya' didn't block 'em somehow. BTW, They even had an BC adapter ring that fit in the backside...

You didn't happen to question them about their lugs indenting the washers issue by chance?

I see something such as this in you future...…. I had a 10" X 15" UniLug Cragar pair way back. They had a hokey bolt pattern adapter ring that fit in the backside of the hub. The offset washers covered the ugly. You had to hold the washer in position or it would swing toward the spokes on ya'...

FWIW, I used adapters on my Barracuda front for over a year for my Draglites with no issues before I swapped to LBC and disc brakes. The SBC Cragars I had on previously were a different story. Back in the day they actually allowed these adapters at the strip. You learned to take the rear wheels...

I had just one of those on a front drum way back. A spot weld on either end holding it on. It practically fell off for me. Two rears recently purchased had none at all. I didn't check mine then, but it might be interesting to know how much runout your uncut outer drum displays. Maybe an off...

Obviously you'll hang out more than you are if you have 3-1/2" BS now. Have you considered 4-1/2" with a "if necessary" spacer and longer shank lugs to clear suspension? 10 X 15 X 3-1/2 BS Draglites 265-60s on stock 8-3/4 axle/brakes...….. Since ya' ask, ..... na, not me.

As mater of fact the fronts did Steve. The Cragars were on it when I traded for it. The car saw many weekends at Oswego and Union Grove before I ended up with it. It took a lot of abuse. I was driving this car almost every day except in winter way back. It was a nuisance thing. I knew about it...

IMO, These small Cragar 7/16" lugs/washers were a PITA even 35 years ago. Just not enough clamp surface. They loosened up too easily even when torqued correctly. It doesn't take long for the "built in" washer on the nut to dig into the flat washers they supplied. So that indent in the washer...

The one inch difference BS from 3.5" to 4.5" for my 275/60/15's will still cause me to have clearance issues with the inner fender lip. A narrower tire can help. A rolled up lip may as well. A stiff, higher stance is yet another option. I believe you want about 1/2" tire clearance to the...
