1971 Valiant Super Bee (Mexico) Proyect

How are these cars VIN'd? Are they Valiants (VS29) or Darts (LM29) or something completely different?

    rear demon decal

From what I've read, no 72 Demons had the Demon sticker on the rear end. When they dropped the fender decals due to pressure from the bible belt, they dropped them off of the back too. By 1972 Dodge was really downplaying the Demon name which is why the 72's got the boring metal badges without...

    Mod top/No mod top?

Oh man, I can't believe anyone would order a Dart like that! I wonder if it was a typo on the salesman's order sheet... V1H and V1W look pretty close when scribbled by hand. Just say no to the ModTop. ;)

    Resurrection of the (72) Demon

I will admit to changing the steering wheel. It originally had the base wheel that had started to darken with age. The deluxe wheel was a cheap eBay score. :)

    Resurrection of the (72) Demon

Looks good! Nice to see another 72 Demon owner on here. :) Your blue interior was neat but I prefer black too myself. My car came green but with only 18,000 miles on the clock, I couldn't swap it out... it was too mint!

That Runner was on Kijiji Belleville recently... I contacted the owner for more pics but never got a reply. I love those cars.

    1972 dodge demon wheels?

Thanks! I wish that Chrysler had continued with the body-coloured steelies into the 72 model year but the black still looks good to me.

    Dual snorkal hood scoop

The Sizzler package (1971 Demon) came with hood stripes (1972 Demon 340 style) but no hood scoops. If it was a hood off of a 340 car, it'd be drilled for the fresh air and scoop stud holes. Scoops always had air holes under them. The 71 cars with the dual scoops had the fresh air holes spaced...

how rare is an 1976 duster 360 sunroof car !

Your car being a Duster means that it cannot be a Hang 10... those were all Dart Sports and only in 1974 and 1975 IIRC. It could be a Spirit of 76 edition though... they had a red, white and blue colour scheme. Regardless, any Duster with a 360 in 1976 would be a rarity and the sunroof makes it...

    Power steering pump

I just went through the same thing! I lucked out and found a 70 Polara with a 318 at the junk yard... stripped off the p/s and alt brackets as well as all of the pulleys. I was having a horrible time trying to get a set of matched pulleys... ugh.

The 360 original? If so, am I guessing correctly that the car is a 74?

Hmm, what are you thinking of asking for the car? Me-thinks I should come take a look-see at it. :)

Pics from today. let the kids out 2 play.

It snowed hard all day today so I sat in my basement workshop and assembled the 8 3/4" axle going into my Demon. It was still probably warmer outside in Georgia than it was in my basement... :(

    rear stripe

I found this but it doesn't have the "Dart Sport" embossed into it: http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/p-d/ct606.htm, same here: http://www.jimsautoparts.com/dart_stripe_kits.htm You may have to have the Dart Sport done up by a local company and just stick it over the decals linked to above. Just a...

    I found a 17,000 mile Demon!

Not many. Just the 225 /6, 904 auto, cigarette lighter, deluxe hubcaps and the AM radio/dash-center speaker. It's so strippo it's got a rubber floor (which is near-mint btw)!

    I found a 17,000 mile Demon!

I know! Too evil a car for such a angelic powerplant. I think Demon 440 sounds more like it although I only have a spare 318/727 lying around presently... still trying to convince Gil to let go of that 68 440 engine wasting away in his garage. ;-)

    I found a 17,000 mile Demon!

That's the one! The guy selling it had an amazing collection of cars in his warehouse including a 70 Hemi'cuda, a 70 Hemi Challenger 'vert, a 71 Challenger R/T 440+6, 1 69 383 Roadrunner and a 68 Barracuda fastback with a 426 4-speed stuffed in. Other makes included a Cyclone Spoiler, a 70 Mach...
